Aston Villa after Boruc

In sporting lifes paper talk section, apparently a story in "The People"

Aston Villa manager Martin Oneil has put Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc at the top of his shopping list.

Thanks very much martin!! what are we your feeder club

Can only hope "if there is any truth in it" that Martin still has feelings for the tic and pays top whack for him.

Although personally I cant see why big Artur would think Villa is a step up

 

I don't think Boruc would go to Villa

 

i'd be insulted if he left us for villa. i could understand if it was milan or arsenal, cant see him going to villa

 

I don't think he will mate, he said if he left it'd be to a bigger and better club. Don't see Villa stumping out £12M+ for him either so think this is a non-starter, hope so anyway.

Thats my thinking too, Villa would be a tough one to take if he went there, all they will ever be is a top7 epl club with maybe the odd season in the uefa cup.

They will have the money to spend though with that american boy there

 

MoN can * right off! As much as we all love him he's starting to get a bit lippy if he thinks he can take all our best players. Don't think Boruc would go anyhow. Why would he? Villa are a far smaller club than the mighty Celtic.

 

his agent has said it wud take something extraordinary for him to leave, and its hardly that is it?

It would be a big surprise to see him going to Villa, I think bigger clubs maybe sniffing around.

However maybe a considerable wedge plus Stan and Shaun back may be a carrot used by MON.

No way, Villa would be a backward step for Boruc. A mid table club and no CL. I really can't see him being interested or Villa actually spending that sort of money.

 

If the money was right I'd sell him to anyone. We could do a lot with 12 million

i think fergie is grooming ben foster as van der saar's replacement mate. they have high hopes for him but he always seems to be injured

 

Seem to remember seeing an interview with Fergie where he mentioned that

 

i dont think so something tells me that boruc will be with us for years and return to legia to retire boruc is a celtic and legia diehard hes one of us now a celtic fan and the support he gets from both clubs he wouldnt get else where!

 

I seriously doubt that there is any truth in this rumour, they didn't want to pay 10M for Carson, so why would they spend it on Boruc?

Villa is often linked to our players because of MON. People shouldn't jump on his back, especially when interest isn't even confirmed. And even then, we shouldn't start insulting him, he should still be held in very high regard. Both him and WGS have been great managers for us.

 

I think its really laughable Martin O'Neil thinks Boruc would even consider going to Villa... Celtic are by far the bigger club... go snap up Rab Douglas, Oneil ya backstabbing *
