Ridiculous way to lead a country. Allowing mob rule and backwards thinking religious fundamentalists to hold greater sway than the country's Supreme Court.

It’s what the Catholic Church done in Europe for centuries. And Christian Baptist’s in America to an extent still.

youd think there must be something the west can do?its a pity we have a big * in with the pakistan government, despite there well known links to terror groups, and a government that planned and carried out the Mumbai bombings among other things.the americans also completely ignored the fact they hid bin laden.

The West has done enough damage throughout the middle and Far East down the years. The West can no longer try to put in place favourable regimes to suit their needs. Hasn’t worked until now when you look at Hamas in Palestine and Al Queida and Islamic State all being funded and established by the West. Even back to the Mohajadin to fight Russia in the 80s with CIA money and hence Al Queida. As much as the Middle East is left behind in regards to their view on equality and religious teachings, it is their society to dictate and support whom they find appropriate to rule their nations. You can’t think the West making that choice for the sake of globalisation and capitalism will benefit a people set in their religious ways. They need to work a way forward for themselves.
