Yep our dog woke up after a nap there went into the garden for a pee and came straight back in as a firework went off in the distance. Think new year is a lot of baws to be honest.

Our pup is 8m old now and Im honestly so thankful that he doesn't seem bothered with fireworks.

I'm putting it down to being used to hearing pops and bangs from the cars at the park.

Horrible seeing the state animals fan get themselves into due to fireworks.

I had posted this in the trivial things that annoy you thread during the night!

    “Fireworks!

It’s a Sevconian thing isn’t it? The first test for fireworks should be if you want to set them off then the first one gets strapped to your genitals. If that goes off (pardon the pun) without a hitch then fill yer boots and burn your money in the sky.

    If you hurt yourself, good.

Now * off and give us all peace.”

Since I got my pup iv played firework noise on the TV at night for around 8 weeks. I done it because I seen the utter state my dad's dogs would get. My pup now doesn't even lift his head when one goes off so mission accomplished hopefully.

Always thought I was just being a killjoy but pets > fireworks.

It's sickening seeing the state it gets some poor animals into.

It was probably just English / EDL fans celebrating the New year :41:

I tend to worry more about what it’s doing to wildlife…. Roosting birds, hibernating bats etc…

Was like a bad night in Kabul here last night for 15 solid minutes after midnight, as every * with money to waste all set them off at the same time….

We truly are a stupid species with the pointless things some are prepared to waste time and money on…. and with no thought to the consequences other than their own self gratification.

    Arseholes.

Was the same here, was * raging man. Always feel like going out to hunt * down that are doing it, but it would be * into the wind so I just sit and grit my teeth.

I'd ban the * things outright.

I heard a dog owner saying that playing classical music helps and I also saw this on Google:-
Animal welfare experts have urged pet owners to play classical music on Bonfire Night to help anxious pets remain calm and relaxed.

Interesting. If i had a dog I would be looking into trying to do something to help them rather than blaming the people with the fireworks themselves. Even something like what Honda done with his dog. It's definitely not nice watching the dogs terrified when it's relentless all night them going off.

They were being used up and let off as they'll have no cause to set them off on the 2nd

Fireworks to the public should be banned, organized displays only, they are a pain in the */annoyance.

I'm not one for banning things but they should just ban the noise. You don't need the atom bomb noise. They have plenty of choices available for the silent/very quiet variety that won't harm the animals ears at all.

Not arsed myself they are quite cool but they could just sell the less noisy ones that just make the puffing noise or crackling noise to the public that way pets won’t be frightened if you can hardly hear them unless close and outside.
