Absolutely mate to sell him for 700k or there abouts was silly. The boy will improve no doubt, stinks of another Given.

Look at the players Liverpool have brought in this summer. Keane aside they have brought in big, athletic, quick guys who have cost pennies. Why our scouts are not identifying players like them is disapointing.

    Spot on mate.:50:

I think you should write a letter to the Team at CP who are in charge of Scouting and Signings and give them the benefit of your superior knowledge on how to scout and sign talent ! I'm sure they'd be grateful for your expert input.
You could always put a letter in to Peter Lawell about Celtic's lack of ambition too, he seems like a nice man, I'm sure he'd appreciate you bringing your thoughts to his attention.

I am not really interested in what the Huns do. However do you think these players have improved the Huns?

Defo no for me in an ideal world all business should be done by now in order to let players settle. However with our financial situation i take this is how it has to be from now on

    Exactly.

Mendes will be a good signing and the 2 year loan deal with Aaron Niguez saying he wants to win a permanent deal makes the Crosas deal look like kids stuff.

I also think the Loovens was a 'get it right up ye' move from Celtic, but I'll wait until he plays to make judgement.

Not amused with our signings so far.

Aye, being realistic is a good start. If we're being realistic, will this team get us into the last 8 of Europe? I doubt it. Lawells comments will begin to look unrealistic if we don't start signing some players with pedigree.

don't know who McCourt is, wont judge, Samaras is a waste of money in my opinion, but I hope he proves me wrong. Loovens I haven't seen so wont judge. Crosas is untried at any real level and isn't going to walk into the first team. So all in all we've bought 1 player capable of playing 1st team from the off, Loovens, and I've not even seen him play! JVOH and McDonald comes before Samaras, Crosas wont play for a while, McCourt might, but I doubt it.

They've just picked up Mendes, after getting Velicka/Lafferty/Miller (OK he's *..) Aaron Niguez.. plus the Bougherra bloke at the back, he's supposed to be quite good.

OK we don't need a major overhaul of players like the huns, but they're bringing in 1st team players..even the 19 year old kid has played in the champs league. we're bringing in backup.

So far no. But there is still time and I am hopeful that we might sign one or, ideally, two before the deadline. All of the signings so far are guys with 'potential'. I was hoping for a couple of signings who would be good enough to go straight in to the team.

The transfer market is crazy though and it is difficult for us (and the huns). At the same time lads we are in the top 20 rich list every year and a lot of teams who do not appear on that list can pay transfer fees which we won't match.

no need for me to read beyond the 1st page covered everything i was basically gona say, just wating for someone i could quote lol, but in seriousness totally agree not happy yet jurys out on everyone we have purchased so far lets hope they are sucesses but really we should be bringing in people whom we know will do a job, still a few weeks yet who knows what will happen surely if THEY can spend that amount of money while there in debt we can stump up a few quid for quality.

Although no important players have went out we still need to bring in 1 or 2 more.

I accept what you are saying here to some extent, I dont know what teams you were talking about, but my mind went to the Turkish league or the Russian/Former Russian Leagues.
I dont know how well the Turkish teams are financially managed, but the Russians seem to getting bankrolled pretty well by generous benefactors.

As fans its always frustrating managing our expectations signings-wise. We will always want more than we can get.

If someone was to start a thread asking if we were happy with the way the club was being managed financially, we'd probably say we were delighted.
I'm still hopeful that PL can pull a gem out of the hat, I cant imagine Martin Bain ever getting the better of him.

well if your talking about transfer activity then yes ,signings as yet no, i dont believe for a moment that GS and peter lawell are sitting on there arses doing nothing ,
if you all look at the rumours page and believed in some of the possible signings we would at least have ten by now ,theres plenty of time yet and i have faith in peter lawell pulling a couple of belters out the hat.
i think whats happened the now is ,rangers have signed a couple of half decent players and celtic fans are a bit tense about it ,rangers had no choice but to buy after the week theve had ,there was talk of boycotts going on at ibrox ffs ,there panic buying to sooth things over .
celtic will deliver and will win the league ,i honestly believe that , we have crossas ,loovens ,samaras, and now the emergence of young caddis ,him alone is like a gift from * ,what a player ,we have mizono and hutch still to come in ,so to me it looks more rosey in celtics favour than rangers ,and there is still 2 weeks to go until the end of the transfer window.

Spot on KD, always the voice of reason !
Thing is though, some people are never happy unless they're unhappy ! :50:
