Anthony Ralston

I hear you but 30% to 40% of them will never see inside the home dressing room at Celtic park. We are throwing away too much money on guys that will never make it. I don’t have the answer mate but it’s certainly not a bigger squad and we can’t have 2 quality players for each position that would cause so much disharmony.

 

A couple of simple tweaks to that plan could work well, those being having players who can play more than one position well so Elhamed can cover RB and CB, Frimpong RB and RW, however having a starter and a mixture of challenger/players with potential to cover is what we need given the number of games we play.

The second thing we need to address is rotation and managing it properly, McGregor, Brown and Frimpong this season, Ajer, Forrest and Eddy have all been playing too much for us over the last few seasons. This creates issues with injury and burnout as well as another with stifling opportunities for potential players to develop. I am not talking wholesale changes to the team but a 2 or 3 should be possible particularly in positions like CM where there’s a heavy workload or as a lone striker.

 

I agree there is a way around this and in all honesty as a business I don’t understand why it hasn’t happened already. We’ve carried too many players for years.

 

He should get the rest of the season, neither Kenny or Laxalt will be here next season.

Play Ralston and Taylor.

Also helps that of all of our fullbacks, he’s by far the best in the air.

 

Don't rate him but I don't rate Kenny either, ralston at least has a bit of drive about him.

I don't think it matters as he shouldn't be here next year either and they are all bang average.

 

Not that this really means anything, but Laxalt has been liking a bunch of posts on his Instagram of people asking him to stay at Celtic.

 

Wonder why no prem team has come in for ralston on loan this season, or why no championship side doesn’t want him to finish the season with them right now. Yeah he’s not good enough for us but he’s definitely a good enough footballer to be out playing every game in the league for another team or even down in league 1 in England

 

He was linked with Hearts I think as they are short on RBs but think we've held onto him as cover. Don't really see the point of having both him and Kenny about. We should have let him get some game time.

 

Yeah, annoying aint it. I could get it if it was for the ‘greater good’ of the team keeping players like him about. But it’s just not, and more so to the detriment of the player! I’m sure there’s a young 16/17 year old we could have as back up that’s just going to warm the bench and not actually play

Aye? I thought I seen something the other day saying he will definitely be for the off.

I would love him to stay, under a better manager I think he could be amazing.

 

I’d rather give a bit of game time to our younger player, might be able to drum up a small bit extra on his outgoing fee. And honestly I * trust him more than Kenny.

 

Kenny is miles better than Ralston man.

 

I don’t think Ralston concedes a corner from the halfway line then doesn’t give a * enough to not track his man at the back post for the goal against the Huns.

He’s probably a better player but I’d much rather Ralston.

 

That 1 minute of madness was easily his
worst for Celtic though. Ralston should not be anywhere near Celtic.. nor should Kenny for that matter but still.

 

Ralston should be absolutely nowhere near us, fair play to him getting games here don't begrudge him but he is absolutely * * at pretty much everything, he is a Dundee United player at the very best.
