Not too fussed him being called up or not. Lads in great form, he does deserve it - however * giving him a chance to be poorly coached or take an injury at this stage.

Mental though, that he has played near every minute at RB this season for us, doesn't get a call up - but Patterson has played all of 1 cup game against Dunfermline and is deemed good enough and capable?
    * off

As I've said before, I would make a serious bet that I have traveled more of Scotland then most people on this forum :scotland:;)

The wife and I have a love for Scotland.

PS. A close friend of mine in Australia is a big time hun whose entire family are from Larkhall.

I had to know the "banter...."

That certainly explains it. Still though, you have an intimate knowledge of the social aspects here, even contemporary nuances. Fair play but being a cynical * myself...

    That’s on me though.

It’s definitely a mystery. Used to be in form players got called up to the squad at least. Sorry for any Scotland fans on here but I actually prefer our players stay fresh for us. * the internationals.

Aye would rather overall no one played for them, just because of our * luck with injuries and the likes.
But still baffling when you consider the NT manager really should be picking players in form and on merit

Ralston this year has played 9 times, scored twice and set one up with a total of 840 minutes.
Patterson this year has played once, scored none, set up none, played a total of 90 minutes .

Go figure which one gets picked out the two.

Laugh if he took out Patterson and injured the *, only for Clarke to try call him up and big Ralston tells him to jog on.

Only thing I can think is Clarke likes to foster a club culture with the national team and therefore picks the same players time after time. This is despite genuinely not knowing who he picked this time.

The cynic in me says he just wanted to include a hun and Patterson was the only one.

    I embrace my cynicism.

To be fair, they're not dissimilar to other experiences.

The British Empire did equally horrendous things to the Greeks, to the indigenous people of Australia and the Irish, albeit all in different ways.

But this is a conversation for elsewhere.

    “Contemporary” nuances.

Let’s leave it anyway. Was only my cynical opinion. No harm done.

I don't see the problem here. There's no way Ralston is * enough to represent Scotland, he's been outstanding this season.

The important thing for Ralston is to focus on continuing to play well for Celtic, that's all that matters at this point in time.

Club is more important than the National team, i know it would be good for him personally but he just needs to keep doing what he's doing for us, he's a young guy with hopefully a great career in front of him.

It's odd Clarke picking Patterson ahead of him, considering he claimed he didn't pick Marshall purely as he isn't playing...

Having said that I'm glad he is getting a wee break as he could probably use one with the schedule he's had this season. Even he probably wasn't expecting to be playing this much, and I'm assuming our new RB will be away with Croatia. It's always a worry when you have a couple of players in the same position both away on international duties at the same time.

Much better for Celtic that he wasn’t picked, for numerous reasons.

    So happy with that.
