He was always too good for the A league. He managed Brisbane here in Australia and they were the best team in the country, then went he went home to Melbourne they became the best.

He has won the Asian Cup which is the Asian version of the Euro's, which is a pretty competitive tournament as Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran can put out pretty good football teams.

But there has always been a stigma about Australian football, and to be fair its the 5th most popular sport in the country and our domestic league is dying - no body watches it anymore & the pay scales have been slashed for managers and players. Its why Ange went to Japan following his stint as Australian manager, rather than come home.

Its good to see him thrive in a proper football environment. Outside of Managing Australia at the World Cup and Asian Cup which only go for a month or so, he hasn't been involved in a proper football environment. Because being a professional footballer in Australia, would be like being a professional cricketer in Scotland.

So glad he is taking his chance & proving while Australia is a football minnow, we can still offer up some capable people. Would love it if he were to pip Rangers in his first season and win the league

Huge game at home to Dundee United. Rangers have to go to Dingwall which is about as good a venue as any to drop points. If we can narrow the margin on the weekend then we go into the derby with the chance to go top and what a psychological boost that would be.

    Doing a fantastic job.

Time and time again we will have some sort of injury setback as well and he is getting this team to play as a unit.

That midfield had never played together prior to tonight and our entire first choice midfield from the first half of the season was missing.

Add to that Kyogo and Maeda...mad!

Just wish we'd be more clinical in front of goal.

It's mental the number of games we should have won by half time/60 mins this season and ended up scraping by with a 1 goal margin.

Small thing but I * love that the translator is treated like a member of the coaching staff.

In the behind the scenes stuff from Yokohama Ange always had them there and in the dressing room as well.

Must be brilliant for the Japanese boys.

That penalty miss honestly feels like the first but of luck we’ve had in a while.

Since the cup final kind of feels like everything has been going against us.

I still can’t believe it hit the post. You’re absolutely right, we’ve had no luck at all.

It was the way they cheered thinking it was going in, then cheered again after it hit the post thinking it was going in again :giggle1:

Honestly when it was given it was so deflating. Just felt * typical of this season and felt like another thing to add to list of * going against us.

Was thinking just the same earlier. We are creating a lot of gilt edged chances but not scoring a high percentage of them. If we can be more clinical in front of goal someone is going to take a real beating.

Another two big game's without some key player's to get through..

If we can get 9 out of 9....what a lift that will give us..

We'd be in a great position to see this through..

Can't overlook United though. Get the 3 point's and it set's up a Tim only, full house against those orange * to get through..

Both goal scorers going straight over to Ange after scoring really shows how much the team have bought in to him. Love to see it.

You can take Ange out of the Balkans but you can't take the Balkans out of Ange.

A 2-0 score in Italy equals game over. They are masters of shutting down a game and maintaining such a lead. Defenders are as valued as forwards in that country and managers have their teams mentally on the same page when it comes to maintaining a lead like that.

One of the interesting things I noticed since the game in watching the goals back over is that both goal scorers made it a point to go over and hug Ange on the sideline after celebrating with the team. Very telling that I thought in a very positive way about the relationship between the players and Ange.

need to score more than 2 goals every game. 4 or 5 would be better. then it doesnt matter if the other mob jag a dodgy penalty, or scramble one in from a corner.

the chances were there. for all the possession and shots, there needs to be more goals.

i think thats where the team will get to. 4 or 5 every game, and it doesnt matter if you concede 2.
