But wanted him given more time if he won the cup even though we were 10 points behind.

I appreciated him for the cup win, but I don't care what the offended brigade say about me, I'll only say Ange has done a good job if he wins the league.

I'd say Ange has done a great job to date although, if he pulls the Scottish Premier League 'This Season' thats it, he would litrally be a genius man manager. Straight to Liverpool with some of his Bhoys or sign him for an extended period.

    We have dropped those points.

But in the same instance played some of the best football I've seen a celtic side play in European football. Its been a ride, so far, which is exactly what we were told it would be under him.

It was never going to be an over night thing and dropped points are to be expected. Maybe not against Livingston but we've always had bogie sides.

Definitely going in the right direction.

Has Ange had a managerial job where he has failed to deliver?

Nope. In every instance he meets or exceeds expectations.

Hes taken this club by the * scruff and dragged it from the precipice of the gutter where Lennon and the board left us teetering.

Hes won his first trophy and his first attempt.

Hes got us within touching distance of a real title challenge when EVERYONE had written us off.

His signings, HIS signings, have by far been a success.

Hes got the board to pull their weight and open the vaults, were looking at our biggest season spend in years if the deals for Jota and Ccv are made permanent.

Hes put journos, slavering pundits and hun sycophants back in their box when they pull their *.

He brought players back from the mediocrity of last season and has them flying; Callum, Turnbull, Rambo et al

And hes got us playing some of the best football ive seen in YEARS, certainly since BR's first season.

Anyone questioning whether Ange is doing a good, nevermind decent job needs their * head examined

Really taken to the manager but let's not forget we are 6 points off the pace. Excited at what he's bringing but that gap needs hunted down pronto. If not then it's all pretty pointless.

Well it's not pointless cause even if we don't win the league we'll be much more ready next season

With another gaffer, Hoops might be 12-15 points behind the huns. Never thought of that hey?

Can't see how it could be 'pointless' when almost everyone had us written off before a ball was kicked this season. In fact, that we are still in with a shout of winning the league is pretty astonishing, and a testament to Ange and the players. I've no doubt that the title will be back in Paradise come the end of next season - if not sooner.

Its literally the opposite of pointless?:giggle1:

Planning for one season will get us absolutely nowhere. I get that people are desperate to get the title back at the first attempt but I did not have that expectation at the start of the season and tbh still don't.

I agree. Even in the scenario that we don't win the league, long term planning would put us in a stronger position for the champs league qualification route than what we've been over the last few years. Fingers crossed it doesn't come down to that tho. :shamrock:

    Me neither.

A title win this season would be a phenomenal achievement, especially given the mess we were/ are in.

Of course, given the nature of "football fans" if we dont win the title, a certain set of half wits will want Ange hunted, and make loony tune remarks about how WGS or * Steve Clarke would've done better.

But the more discerning of our support will accept the reality that Rome wasnt built in a day, and more importantly, we're probably about two more seasons away from our final form and Anges real vision for us.

I think you need to look at the bigger picture mate, I don't think there was one Celtic fan who thought we would win the league this season, it was always about rebuilding.

Now, if we finish the second half the season a la Neil Lennon and finish 25 points behind the huns, then serious questions need to be asked of Ange, but if he ends the season with us looking noticeably better, with a cup or two in the bag? He should 100% be kept on.

It's unfortunate with Gerrard leaving, as there is no chance he gets full points in December. Got a new manager at the perfect time.

Squad is really taking shape and the football has been a fantastic watch at times. Sure, we've had some games where we've struggled against 10 men defences, but we've also been missing some amount of first team players as well at numerous points of the season so far.

His doubters should at least allow him a few windows to see where we are with his own squad in place. Not fair to judge him while he's had to resort to using dross left to him by previous regimes and young guys that clearly aren't ready or just not good enough.

The title this season is paramount. Sorry but that's how I see it.
