Accepting Lawwell’s mediocre backroom set up will ultimately cost him.

His first move after full time should be bringing his own guys in.

 

I like him I like how he wants to play football, i feel for him because this board is still a shambles considering this is the defence we have going into games like this, I don't mind if he wants to attack every game, but can 100% guarantee right now he will never do it at champions league or Premier league level, he is miles off it when setting us up defensively, look how open we are when we get countered, he doesn't have us setup at all to stop counter attacks and the gaps between our MF & Defence are absolutely massive, any half decent side would soak up our intensity and keep hitting us on the break, until he accepts that he needs to be structured defensively to stop counter attacks when we are In possession he will get found out at top level, we are fortunate to still be leading this tie.

 

Think he deserves massive credit for what he's done so far, aye we weren't great tonight, but AZ have a phenomenal home record and nobody would have gave us a chance when the draw was made.

We still need a few positions, mainly CB, LW and LB, but when this team fully gels we'll romp this league.

Just please, get him the players he needs.

If AZ had any sort of fend product they could of beat us 4/5-2 tonight, AZ are a decent side, undoubtedly the best team we've played so far but still an average side all said and done, I think a side with real end product beats us easily currently, look at us when we attack we have bodies all over the place, it's exciting of course it is but if we don't score we are so so so so open, look at all the top teams when they have the ball, they are still so well setup at the back and they control the centre of the pitch so they stop any potential counter attacks centrally, Ange doesn't have us setup to do that.

I like the guy and its great to see us playing such exciting football again, i'm hoping with time and signings our out of possession side will improve but that remains to be seen.

 

A tough game, but we didn't collapse- he inspires players to keep trying. I'd like him to show more faith in Soro for situations when our midfield cannot control the game.
