A year or two at us propels you to the Premiership. Although maybe he saw Christie’s stupid decision and thought Preston would be good.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not horrendous but I doubt Preston are going anywhere anytime soon.

Where Hibs kept demanding 4million and never budged in negotiations once (albeit we barely crept up our next bids each time) only to then accept Aston villa opening bid of 2.75 no questions asked?

I can only guess that he's a bitter Sevco fan and refused to sign for us! Why else would the board not get a guy with so much potential on our doorstep for so little outlay.

 

Shame.Did we even try I wonder.

 

Could be lots of reasons this didn't happen and we will probably never know..

For me the main reason was probably a chance to go to England.. simple.. PNE put alot of emphasis on their youth too..

Reason I hope it wasn't.. the obvious one, he represents Norn Iron and their fans don't exactly like Celtic players, maybe didn't want the hassle

 

Or he just wanted to play in England.

He may not even be a fan of them but didn’t want the hassle as a Northern Ireland international playing for us. Alternatively he might have seen the McGinn route and thought if he goes to Preston and does well there he could get a move to a lower end premiership club.

I know we didn’t get the bids we were looking for last year for the want a way players but the fact we kept them (which was within our right to do) may put off some of these guys looking to take there next step with a view to going elsewhere beyond that.

Alternatively Ange maybe didn’t think he fitted what he wanted. Who knows he’s gone now anyway.

 

Alistair who plays for the orange 11 and Steven Davis is his idol. Doubt he ever wanted to come here tbh.

 

Don't know enough about him to have too much of a strong opinion but wondering if he is the sort of player we need when Rogic is unavailable?

If so, wonder if there are any thoughts of trying to get him from Preston come January.

 

He's excellent at pressing, great engine. I doubt they would sell him this soon into his contract though, that ship may have sailed.

 

I'm sure the talk was that he had no interest in coming here. Same a Nesbit at Hibs.
