Totti is an absolute legend in every sense of the word. Literally a * in Rome, well for Roma fans anyway. At his height he could do everything but as I said he is often not recognised as much due to hie club achievements being pretty minuscule in comparison with his talents.

I'm sure he doesn't regret a single season though. That's the kind of guy he is. Could also have scored alot more goals if he was consistently played as an out and out forward, said that himself. Managers have often switched him about from attacking mid to striker to CF and even to the wing throughout the years.

His best season in 06/07 was with Spaletti and that is when he was played as an out and out striker. 32 goals and 15 assists.

Considering that and the fact that Roma have not always been top 4 in Seria A his record is fantastic. Only time I can think of any speculation linking him away was with Real Madrid.

I would say Pirlo and Totti were both better than Del Piero. Totti was always consistantly a great player, still is very good although had injury problems. Del Piero was better when he was younger then went kinda stale although still good a bit like Rooney. Pirlo was great in the mid to late 2000s, then declined for a couple of years before a resurgance since he moved to Juve.

Id take Del Piero just for the novelty, he'd probably be kinda like Lubo maybe not as good as Lubo was still quite quick in this 30s.

Well that answers his question:50: Totti has always been simply brilliant. A would of done it at any club.

graveson, ljurnberg, juninhio, keane, wright, all topped up their pension and were largely a disappointment so no thanks .

All good players. Del Piero is in a different class altogether to them though, you're talking about probably Juventus' greatest ever player.

He'll never leave Sydney for us, most likely - our level/our support, these days.

At there peak a would take Del Piero over Totti every time. No even a tough decision. Even after his career threatening knee injury and lost his pace he adapted easily because he was one skilful *. He was such a genius.

i wonder where these rumours of us signing superstars (albeit past it/almost done) come from .they seem to come out every transfer window then we sign someone like balde.
i cant really see how a 39 year old is gonna improve us anyway,as good as he was i cant imagine him in the middle of winter with snow and hail stones beating the back of him giving 100 % for the team which is what we need ,

In this case it's came straight from the horses mouth. He has came out and said he wouldn't mind if we were to contact him. That's all.

Was talking about this in work today ... As we signed an unknown manager which probably wont sell season books this type of signing would get bums on seats shirt sales etc he would essentially pay for himself.

Dunno how I'd feel if we signed him and paid his wages just weeks after letting Samaras go... He's a legend of the game but it would be a kick in the teeth to one of our most loyal players of the last decade if we signed Del piero.

Na not interested now. I thought it would have been pretty cool if he had come to us 2 years ago. Immense back in the day but think we should pass on him.

Does anyone here know how well he's done in Australia?
