I wouldn't worry too much about that. It's easily cured with a couple of immodiums.

Would like to see this happen, another kinda half arsed link to us in the rags today. Looks solid, energetic and tidy enough to fit in our system imo.

FERENCVAROS chief Gabor Kubatov has admitted that he is 'open' to selling star man Aissa Laidouni.

The Tunisian was previously linked to Celtic earlier in the month.

The 25-year-old midfielder is a name Hoops fans may recognise, as he was part of the Ferencvaros squad that knocked the Hoops out of the Champions League tournament in 2020.

Laidouni started all three of Tunisia's group games at the World Cup in Qatar, wowing punters before they were eventually knocked out.

And French media claimed shortly after that Celtic were one of many clubs interested in the player.

Foot Mercato reported that both Celtic and Wolfsburg have their eyes on Laidouni, as well as a host of English teams.

The reported fee is €4 million (£3.5m).

But now a new twist in the story has emerged.

Ferencvaros supremo Gabor Kubatov has admitted that he is 'open to negotiations' regarding the Celtic-linked star.

This could open the door for the Hoops to swoop in for the World Cup talent

Speaking to Nemzeti Sport, he said: "Many people are interested. We haven’t received a specific offer yet. But I’m sure it will come.

"He played at a very high level at the World Cup. And, if we receive an offer that is worth considering, we are open to negotiations.

"We have to find the right balance too. If we can sell someone for good money, we can get more benefits from that.

On the one hand, we can use the income to bring in new football players."

But, the player himself has previously suggested that he would prefer to play in the Premier League or the Bundesliga when the times does come for him to move on from Hungary.

Laidouni has 27 caps for Tunisia after a debut in 2021 in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier versus Libya.

In each of the last two seasons for Ferencvaros he has played on 27 occasions in the league and scored three goals.

He signed for the Hungarian champions after two years playing with Voluntari in Romania's top flight.

Before that, he came through at Angers in France (where he was born) but failed to find a way into the first team, instead spending time on loan at Les Herbiers and Chambly in the French third division.

We need more than McGregor, Hatate and O'Riley.

We need another three in and need to ship out McCarthy, Ideguchi and Abildgaard. Mooy can pitch in now and again.

Id love Laidouni, Raskin and Gloukh in the door. Strength in depth would be CRAZY.

O'Riley won't be here long, mind.

3.5 million would be absolute robbery. Get it done Celtic.

This window I'd hope to see £15m coming in for JJ and I think we could probably get £500k back for Ideguchi and maybe a couple of hundred grand for Robertson. So, nearly £16m overall. We got Kobayashi for * all, we got Johnstone for £3.5m. Buy Laidouni for £3.5m and buy Cho, think I seen his price would be about £4.5m. That's £11.5m.

We need to try and get GG to sign a new deal but if he won't, we need to sell in the summer. We are definitely getting £6m minimum for him. We then need another striker. I've always liked Mmaee. He seems to be a mix of Kyogo and GG without excelling at what they're good at. Don't know how much he would cost but there is no chance he costs more than Laidouni. Maybe £3m?

In the summer window, we need to try and move on McCarthy and Abdilgaard. I think Jenz will leave without us taking the option to buy and I think we may sell O'Riley if we get a good enough offer. Again, we should expect £15m minimum for him. Absolute minimum. I'd be wanting closer to £20m to be honest.

Losing Ideguchi, Robertson, McCarthy and Abdilgaard frees up 4 spaces in midfield. Laidouni would be one and we should be all over Raskin on a pre contract.

If we were to lose O'Riley as well, that's when I would like to see us sign Gloukh. He would cost a large fee though, probably upwards of £6m but he would be the replacement for O'Riley.

    OUT
    JJ- £15m
    Ideguchi- £500k
    Robertson- £200k
    McCarthy- £500k
    Abdilgaard- Loan Return
    Jenz- Loan Return
    Total- £16.2m

O'Riley- £15m- Only if we have big offers and he wants to go.

GG- £7m- Only if he doesn't sign a new contract and wants to leave.

    Potential Total- £38.2m

    IN

    Kobayashi- Free
    Johnstone- £3.5m
    Laidouni- £3.5m
    Cho- £4.5m
    Raskin- Free (Precontract)
    Total- £11.5m

Gloukh- £7.5m- Only if we sell O'Riley

Mmaee- £3m- Only if we sell GG.

    Potential Total- £22m

Looking at the numbers there... that's mental that we could make a large chunk of profit and still buy some of the best talent kicking about.

As you said, our strength in depth would be * ridiculous.

Apparently they want €10m, no reason why we couldn’t spread the payments or even cover it with the future O’Riley money ect.

This is the sort of price range Ange has alluded to start dipping into

There is no chance they get 10m for him. Not a hope in *. Won't even get half that.

Just checked their transfer history on Transfermarkt all the way back to 2012

The most they have received for a player was €4.8m (Muhamed Besic) and his value at the time was 2.5m.

Followed by €4m for Myrto Uzuni who was valued at €3.5m

Laidouni’s contract expires next June so they’ll need to sell this window to get anything, probably get him for €1-2m

They will never get near that for him.

    £4m is realistic and fair.

He's exactly what we need in the midfield, from what I've seen. Few games live and then highlights. Has a bit of everything.

I think we will get him, he is exactly what we need, combative, mobile and confident. I think we will barter and haggle with them on the price, maybe offer player swop+cash ?.

But he is definitely worth top dollar.

Aye, probably unlikely now after his performances in the world cup..

Unless it was agreed beforehand, which Ange alluded to with most of our January targets practically being done and the focus being more for the summer window..

Would be nice if Cho and Laidouni were pretty much agreed to join..

We have been scouting Mmaee for a year so no doubt we know of this guy. Only reason I'm not just seeing it as paper talk.
