If we want to compete at CL level, we can't be signing 31 year olds who are on loan at Preston just because he used to play for us. Escpecially for £2.5 million. We need far, far better.

It is really though as you already knew the answer. It is pretty obvious from this thread that some do.

People said they would maybe take him back. Not that he would better us as a team at such a high level.

Never really answered the question there.

To be honest, to do well in Europe we would do well to replace somebody like Gary Mackay-Stevens with a man who is experienced in Europe, knows exactly whats needed on a big European night at Celtic Park and has proven himself on that level.

If you think different, fair enough but I think that's * insane.

    This makes no sense.

1 Preston are better than Villa.

    2 Scott Brown is 31.

I suppose. He's still past it and not good enough anymore though.

How's he past it? He has rediscovered form that he lacked but always had the skills. That's hardly past it. Doesn't look past it to me. Been playing well for Ireland lately too

He wasn't as good as he was. For £2.5 million we can obviously get younger, faster and better wingers with an actual resale value. I would prefer this than bringing back McGeady.

Would love him back as a replacement for paddy and gms. Right or left wing, quality and experience.

Absolutely. He has a couple of years left in him at least. He's still got quality and Rodgers could help bring out his best form. He's a step up from Forrest and GMS.

    I don't think he's a step up from James.
    I give you GMS though.

I would like him back and not just for nostalgia, he's been on fire this season, stick him in an attack minded team and he will flourish bit like Sinclair struggling at Villa; McGeady struggled at Everton. At Celtic he'd have freedom to express. It would be good to alternate Rogic and McGeady in that role behind our striker although in fairness I think 2.5 is a bit steep for his age.

I don't put Forrest and GMS in the same bracket, Forrest is much better than GMS.

I wouldn't be against a move for McGeady but Forrest has had an excellent season, not sure it would be a step up?
