I have had issues with this site in the past. The issues seem to come and go, but it's always only this site.

When it happens the adverts and redirects all very intrusive.

It's been fine the last couple of months. It is strange the way it happens. It appears the same issues hit different people at different times.

And every donation is hugely appreciated. You on your own aren't greatly hurting the site, but advising others to use ad blockers along with the many others that already do, is unfortunately hurting it.

Yes, that'll be the redirects. We haven't had one in over a month now, fingers crossed they stay away for another while yet!

As I've said, every site gets rogue ads until they're blacklisted by the ad company. It's likely because you use this one more than others that you'll notice it more. I was using ebay around the time we had our redirect issues and I honestly couldn't put a bid on an item without getting redirected. It comes with the territory, but we usually have it resolved pretty quickly.

Just been researching a little in to this - my first concern was that using an adblocked obviously hurts the site (dont want to be doing that) so my first search was to see if there are ad blockers out there that don't actually stop the revenue still going to the site.

    Short answer, no.

Long answer - Ad blocks are putting up a wall between the site and the adserver it self, which obviously the ads know they aren't getting through and thus would be hurting the site in lost revenue.

While looking a bit further in to it, I realised Chrome actually comes with its very own adblock feature built in to the browser (since Feb 2018). Think it is more referred to an Ad Filter and operates on the "Better Ads Standard" (whatever the * that is, will look in to that later). Now Chrome own ad filter doesn't actually block ads - unless your site is routinely breaking that standard.

From there I took a look deeper at the Chrome extensions it self (for anyone using chrome clock the (i) Icon to the left of the website address up the top, then select site settings). You'll notice that there is the ability to get chrome to do various things within, such as audio auto playing, ads, payment stuff etc etc etc.

Key one though - Block Pop-ups and Redirects. For me it is set to default to block. Perhaps a reason why I have personally never experienced the redirects or pop ups? (I think i do recall some many years ago).

So perhaps a tip to anyone using ad blockers on chrome - try perhaps disable it just for this site and have a check to see if the chrome features are set to block pop-ups and redirects. There is a lot of ads on the site - 11 currently on the page I am on, but to be fair, 9 of them are right down the bottom of the page and Unless I am at the end of a page or typing the response, I don't see them.

Administrators, thought I'd use this thread to alert you that I'm getting the voice of a woman from those dodgy ads about winning phones, what I get is a womans voice saying, "congratulations" twice, but not the page with the ticking clock (had it before on dodgy fitba streams), so help please before it gets worse

They are less obvious and you certainly see less.

The current betting one at the top is hitting everyone at the moment.

It is only meant to display once every 24 hours. Are you getting it constantly?
