Nowhere near good enough..

 

Terrible player, we essentially played with 10 men from kick-off.

If he's anywhere near the squad come Sunday I honestly might cry.

 

He isnt good enough for Celtic offers absolutely nothing at left back or left mid.

 

I have never really rated him however, a lot of people on here said that he was decent and deserves his chance so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Tonight he has had his chance, fecked it up and now needs to go out on loan to see if he can improve his all over game

 

Needs taken out the first team for his own good just now

 

You knew when you seen him in the team he wouldn't do anything, he's out of form and lacks attacking quality anyway. Waste of a player really.

 

His passing is honking but not writing him off yet. With the right coaching and development I think he can be moulded into a decent player.

 

Just played himself out of contention for Sunday, needs to go out on loan

 

The boy looks lost, scared to take a man on and when he's not hiding, and does get the ball, he can't wait to pass it off to someone else.

 

Celtic are set to send rising defensive star Adam Montgomery on-loan for the second half of the season.

Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou has high hopes for the 19-year-old and that was part of the reason he pitched him into his first-team fold at the start of the season.


Celtic also handed him a new contract until 2025 last year.

Montgomery has already played in the Champions League qualifiers and in the Europa League




He has already made 18 appearances all-in but now that Postecoglou has added to his squad in this window he wants Montgomery to go out and get a regular run of first-team games.

Postecoglou feels that is the next part of his development before he was to return to Parkhead and push for the Celtic first-team again in the summer.


Celtic have already put a few of their squad players out on loan with Liam Shaw going to Motherwell and Osaze Urhoghide holding talks over a similar move to Dundee

KILMARNOCK are eyeing a loan move for Celtic kid Adam Montgomery.

The Hoops left-back will be allowed to move for the second half of the season



Montgomery, 19, is being chased by several clubs but Killie are poised to win the chase.



New Rugby Park boss Derek McInneshas already signed Kyle Lafferty, Ash Taylor, Daniel MacKay and Dylan Tait.

But he revealed he is still looking for new faces after Saturday's Scottish Cup defeat to Dundee United.


McInnes said: “We have got enough numbers, but I believe we are maybe one or two different types away. That could help us.

“I am pleased with the work that’s been done, I am delighted with the board and the help they’ve offered on that front.

“Maybe one or two going out will give us the freedom to get more in."

 

Didn't realise he was only 19, thought he was 21 for some reason.

Means he could potentially still make it with us, Kilmarnock is at a lower level but he'd be guaranteed gametime and could be a view of sending him back there for a year if they go up.

 

I thought he was older as well..

Didn't do Ajer any harm through there I suppose..

 

Guaranteed game time at a decent level that'll be physically challenging. Shame it's at a club like Killie.

 

He definitely has potential to still make it at Celtic but clearly he is not ready yet. So sending him out on loan for the rest of this season makes sense.

 

I was just thinking the same. McGrgeor at Notts County was another who really benefited from a loan move early on.

Adam Mongtomery is set to join Kilmarnock on loan after Celtic approved the switch to Rugby Park.

19-year-old Montgomery is highly-rated at Parkhead and made 18 appearances in the first half of this season.


But with Ange Postecoglou reinforcing his squad in January, minutes are going to be hard to come by and Montgomery had various loan options on the table in the English Championship and League One.

However Celtic would prefer him to stay in Scotland and Postecoglou wants to see him get a run of first-team football before returning in the summer.


Winger Montgomery deputised at left-back at the start of the season and is tipped to have a big future at Celtic.


It is a major boost for Derek McInnes as it will bolster Killie ’s promotion push to get back to the Premiership.
