Those were my first thoughts, too.

Is he still a lesbian? Is his wife no longer a lesbian? Is he the first man to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress?

It is confusing, no matter how open-minded one is. :giggle1:

Ah, well. Good luck to him.

Most people will agree to address others with whichever masculine, feminine, or neuter pronouns they wish, and I am sure that most transgender people will accept that people will unintentionally misgender them from time to time.

The debate around language is, as always, distorted by the idiots on the fringes. If you insist that people refer to you as 'ze', or look to upset decent people, you are an *.

I'm in agreement with you that if you go out your way to offend someone by misgendering them then you're a Shereen Najiani.

But I find the whole "these are my pronouns" a little self-absorbed.

Added to that in some countries they are looking to legislate against doing it, which I think is a slippery slope. You then leave up the ambiguity of intent to the justice system which will no doubt wrongly convict people for what may have been a genuine mistake. Not a fan.

I think that it is extremely self-absorbed if the person's gender identity and * assigned at birth correspond. :giggle1:

I guess that it might prevent some awkward situations if someone is transgender though.

Some of the neologisms are harmful, or at least unhelpful.

People only have to adjust their language (and worldview) slightly to accommodate transgender people who identify as male, female, or even non-binary; it is a small concession that I believe that most people are prepared to make.

But no sensible person is going to use made-up pronouns to describe a gender identity that someone has delineated a moment ago because that person is ever so unique. There has to be some level of generality in language, or else it simply stops functioning.

    I agree.

Don’t get why people get so worked up about folk switching gender. If it doesn’t affect you personally then why care? Each to their own.

Nice looking lassie aswell, but just another idiot, jumping on the gay/transgender bandwagon to get herself popular again.
I am not racist or homophobe but totally against the LGBT and BLM movements as there is huge evidence to suggest they are controlled opposition serving the globalists agenda. If you need someone to educate and teach you in the first place that gays and blacks should be treated equal then i am sorry your nothing but a buffon.

    Because it’s absolute nonsense.

This thread wouldn’t even be a thing if this lassie never put her feelings into the public domain...

Well, it's objectively not. They're legally protected by the law.
