    Fair play to anyone that's struggling in their head with their identity and feel they need to transition. If they feel better for it then power to them.

    Re the imposition of language and asking to be referred to in certain ways, I just don't see how it's reasonable or practical to expect people to remember personal ways to address you. As long as someone isn't going out their way to be a * and call you he/she just to wind you up then I think that's all you can ask really.

    Reminds me of when I was a wee guy and used to order fitba boot catalogues from ProDirect and set my title to 'Viscount' 'Baron' etc.

    If we are to truly achieve equality then people just need to do these things and not announce it to the world.

    Even if I was famous I wouldn’t feel the need to tell the world that I love being neck deep in *. It’s private. Why should this be any different?

    Pretty much my thought on it all.
    Same with this illusion that footballers can't come out as gay.

    Why do they need to "come out" at all.
    If you're gay, you are gay. Enjoy your life and get on with it.

    My hope for Elliot here is that he has made his statement and he just gets on with it.
    If he starts banging the drum and forcing * down the throats of people then it'll turn most folk off his work.

    Think he probably felt the need to put out a statement since he’s changed his name and will probably look a bit different from now on.

    Better to make a statement and get on with it instead of having scum celeb rags writing articles on how “she” (as they’d say) looks, when they are too ignorant to see what’s happening.
