He's never gonna be a Hollywood player, he can be useful to give players a rest after 70 mins or so, i'm still not convinced by his signing to be totally honest, but want to give the dude a chance lol.

I like the look of him tbh. Good pass in the lead up to GG's goal and thought he settled us down a bit when he came on.

Not saying much, but at least he's better than McCarthy.

I really like him, old head comes on helping see out games. Always in the right position, doesn’t seem to misplace any passes.

Took his goal well, controlled the game, deserves to start.

I like him, and am confident he will do well. But I couldn't help think he was either slightly out of position or is teammates weren't always keen to give him the ball.

Really? If you count the passes from when he came on - I'd happily bet he got way more touches than anyone else and the defenders were clearly looking for him when we won possession.

Not a single pass missed (as I recall) and a couple of strong tackles.

A quick look at his stats for the game, 24 minutes, 26 passes at 100% accuracy. That’s what we want from our deep midfielder, not giving the ball away easily.

There was a period in the game where we literally had Killie locked into defending and every ball that came back out to 30 or so yards just got picked up by Mooy and recycled back in. Even Starfelt was getting adventurous and taking the ball up to almost the 18 yard box. It was an impressive 3-4 minutes.

Had 1 or 2 dodgy passes but that'll be purely down to getting used to the bone dry plastic where the ball wouldn't travel at all. Otherwise helped keep them penned in very well.

This was not the test, 4-0 up away to Killie when they've given up and are blowing out their arses.

He looked fine, but as ever I am reserving judgement. Not seen anything so far to suggest he will play an important role for us.

He's literally done nothing but pass it sideways and backwards 5 yards in every game he's played so far.

Yes I know he made a 10 yard forward pass in the build up to Giakoumakis' goal but you get my point.

Obviously still too early to judge but

I think this will be why he's been signed.

Like I know it sounds silly...but rather than risk our other guys who are all critical to our play in midfield like O'Riley Hatate and Turnbull, he'll bring Mooy to help see games out whilst those players generally get better rest and protection when returning to the squad and Rotating between themselves.

I was thinking that myself, don’t remember him doing much apart from making easy passes

In fairness whilst he hasn't done anything spectacular he seems very tidy with the ball. Good positional sense and keeps the ball moving.

Think when he finds some fitness he will be a useful player

There were a few forward passes including one very quick and sneaky one with the outside of his boot, but the point is - Mooy never loses the ball. He is certainly capable of playing the defense splitting pass when the run is made and a goal is needed.

But when you want to slow things down and kill the game... Mooy's the Bhoy.
