2015-16 UEFA Champions League Qualifiers

I know the qualifiers are a long way off but they're really season defining for us now.

A couple of things that come up every * year: :smiley-laughing002:

We can only draw champions that do not automatically qualify for the competition proper. That means we absolutely cannot draw Manchester United or Roma or Atlético Madrid...

We should be seeded in every round. Only Basel, Red Bull Salzburg, Viktoria Plzeň and Steaua Bucureşti have a higher club coefficient (http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/club/).

I'll try to keep the thread up to date as other sides qualify.

 

And yes, I am making the assumption that we'll win the league. :bbpd:

Look at the countries that all the teams are from, absolute embarrassment to be going in with Azerberjans finest.

Really missed the CL of late this year and the * performances in Lennys last season makes your crave it a bit more. Although I fear the pumping we could get these days

Ffs. Every year i say this. Should have club coefficients instead on country. Tbf, we got beat off Maribor (and Legia) so maybe we deserve it.

 

Basel/the Swiss team will go automatically into the Groups.

 

And every other Scottish team got their * felt aswell and have done for years,so the blame doesn't solely lay at our door though I take your point atleast about Maribor

Actually the Swiss team are in it, never knew that they changed from 13 to 12.

 

That vacancy that is usually there when the CL winners already qualify for the group stages through their domestic league will be taken up by the EL winners.

 

What's that dependent on? Steaua București would enter the third qualifying round instead of the second and the Irish side entering the first qualifying round would enter the second if that were the case.

 

Aye just read that, if the CL winners have already qualified it goes to the Europa and if they have already qualified(even only for the qualifiers) then it goes to the 13th placed League - if I read it right.

That means if we win the League and Europa we will probably still need to qualify for the CL but if we dont win the League we would probably go straight in

 

They aren't and they haven't.

 

If we win the EL then we are in the CL group stages next season so long as their is a vacant spot ie the CL winner has already qualified for next seasons CL group stages via their domestic league, as is usually always the case.

 

They have, the 13th placed League team used to be guarenteed in the Groups now they're no unless the CL and EL winners have already both qualified.

Means Roma, Zenit, Olympiakos, Salzburg, Ajax or possibly Sevilla, Wolfsburg or Napoli will have to win the EL for the Swiss team to automatically qualify.

Inter, Villarreal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Fiorentina, Monchengladbach, Athletic Bilbao and maybe Napoli, Wolfsburg or Sevilla won't qualify yet have a great chance of winning it.

 

They should allow more non-champions into the qualifiers in the non-champions section. They let about 40 teams into the Champions Qualifiers but only 15 in the non cause the non are "big teams" and dont want to * about playing 2/3 rounds of qualifiers.

It would spread out a lot of money though if the non Champions side had 40 teams in the qualifying. So the SPL runners up would have the chance to get a game against teams like Ajax and Porto.
