I really enjoy watching Gladiator, but it's a bit 'clunky' in some places, and woefully formulaic in others.

Some of the camera work is stunning, but its clumsy in others. And I appreciate CGI was still in its infancy, but some of it was pretty distracting.

It goes into the same category as Braveheart for me - enjoyable macho hokum.

Great work once again Taz, it gets everyone thinking about films they have missed and gives them a chance to see them .

I thought HUNGER would have been higher not 3rd from the bottom, it could have been worse ,, it could have been bottom.

Been a long time since I actually got to watch it, maybe 15 years or more and that was the only time since it was originally at the cinema. TBH, never really felt the compulsion to revisit Gladiator as much as have others in the list. Even Russell Crowe, as good as he is, felt his Oscar win here was one of those cases of deserving but being for the wrong movie (he arguably should've won the previous year for The Insider and IMO absolutely should've the next year for A Beautiful Mind).

Yes well worth watching, especially with a Few Beers, you will see how a Low Budget Film can be so much better than countless Big Budget Movies:50:

Excellent work, was surprised gladiator got no 1, I did like it but personally it'd struggle to get into my top 25 of the nominations, actually if I look again, 50.

Do want to have another look again.

BTW beautiful creatures was released 9 years ago, not sure why it was nominated.
