It says on Sky Sports News that:

"Reports emanating from France have suggested Celtic have lodged a £7million bid for Nantes pair Marc-Antoine Fortune and Landry Nguemo. Fortune impressed under new Hoops boss Tony Mowbray while on-loan at West Brom last season. Nguemo is a Cameroonian midfielder".

If this is true does it show that the board are now willing to splash some cash??

Celtic have spent £7m quite often. It would be no surprise. its a myth that celtic don't spend money.

£7m on two good players would be welcome and the start of bringing the title back to paradise.

Shows you the level of Sky Sports when they don't even know what team a player plays for...

[edit] Although there could easily be something in this given Mowbrays experience with Fortune...

In todays papers it quotes that Landry Nguemo is valued at £1.5m and Quiton Fortune £3.8m, am not sure where Sky Sports are getting there figures from, because if Celtic had to fork-out £7m for these two then they would be getting ripped off, but hi, it would not be the first time. "coughs Eyal Berkovic""

Quinton Fortune i'm sure is not even playing football anymore.

Nantes and Nancy are completely different clubs. Nantes are from Nantes, Nancy are from Nancy.

If this is true, than we may sign only these two guys for the whole duration of summer transfer window. If the board gives 7 millions only on two players, than we will need to sell in order to get some cash for other signings. I hope I'm wrong, but knowing our board, they won't spend further than these 7 mills.

I'm sure mowbray is well aware of the budget and the positions he requires to fill.

We have freed up wages on Naka, Hartley, JVOH, Balde and possibly others....thats alot of cash.

But spending more than 7 millions? I can't imagine that. If we do that than I'll be absolutely delighted. It would show that our board actually has some ambition.:50:
