The Celtic / Liverpool connection

I have a feeling alot of them are United supporters aswell, thats proberly why..

Liverpool is a splinter club of Everton so to say one is Protestant and Catholic is nonsense.

Everton was founded by a Methodist church and has an Anglican church in the stadium grounds.

Neither club has any connection to Catholics.

'Kop' comes from the battle of Spion Kop during the Boer Wars. Football journalists later commented on how the the steep bank of supporters at some stadiums were similar to the steep banks of soldiers at the battle.

Well I'm also a United fan so that's my reason. The people that don't care about English football are probably just tired of seeing people saying there is some connection between us and Liverpool

I really like Liverpool, but I agree, "The fields of Anfield Road" is a disgrace.

As someone said in another thread: I came on thinking I was on a Celtic forum, but it appears instead the place is full of supporters of English clubs who also happen to like Celtic.

They have some of the worst football fans I know.

 

Hate Liverpool stopped being a massive club years ago but their fans still have the attitude they are massive,plus I couldn't really give a flying * about the so called greatest league in the world

 

I hate Liverpool as much as I used to hate Rangers. No 'connection' what so ever.

 

Let's be honest, liverpool have been * for 3 years, but we're still a massive club.

But is that their fault, really? It's not, it's just the sponsors and advertisers and Sky you have to blame for that really.

 

Personally, I find the vast majority of their fans to be arrogant and deluded, with shades of paranoia and a * stupid accent.

And Gerrard's a *.

Prefer them to United and Spurs though.

 

The clubs and Sky together. In partnership. It is simply wrong to imply that EPL clubs are somehow passive victims.

 

Apart from the fact we sing the same song as them and sold our star striker to them for a pittance in the 70s i feel no connection with them, or any other english team for that matter. The Hillsorough benefit match was a nice touch but it was just CFC doing the decent thing. The Diouf spitting incident in the UEFA Cup game i found quite appalling however.

 

I know quite a few Liverpool fans and most of them are sound but there is one that fits what you have put there.

He is actually quite an intelligent fella and on any other topic he is fine. Have had a lot of political debates with him over the years and we don't always agree but can have a fair debate. Get him on Liverpool though and it is a complete blind spot. An example being he genuinely believes Benitez is basically still working for Liverpool and has been deliberately sent to sabotage Chelsea!

He takes every transfer deadline day off and sits watching SSN convinced RVP and Messi are going to sign for Liverpool because who wouldn't choose Liverpool before any other team.

 

I don't support any club but celtic and frankly find it hard to understand how anyone could really have a second club.

I mean unless its a junior side. But supporting a celtic club and an epl club makes no sense to me. I mean are you a celtic can or are you a celtic fan you know
