Use whatever language you want… but he is and will be 100 times better than what is on pitch at moment so stop being depressing * about him and a ray of light for us

From Martin’s late night press interview

I sat at the table with him there and Jota was in, and he can speak a few languages, so he was doing a bit of interpreting. Wee Jota said to me, ‘do you know Gaffer, when you first met the players and had that little talk, and asked if everybody understood, he nodded his head, but he didn’t get it!’”

This is the same chat I heard when Tierney was coming back and it turned out as expected. Too much emotional thinking and less rational. Jota is a good player but long term injury + second return after playing hardly any football doesn't in any way (if history of players having similar issues) suggests he will be the saviour we want to resurrect our season.

Ridiculous opening gambit, was brilliant for us when he returned and will be again when he's back from injury.

Jota is how the Portuguese say the letter J, so it's the equivalent of a Scottish boy called John going by J. It's done fairly often just because João is such a common name.

my point is Serious injury recovery and having not played frequently for a couple of seasons can be a huge detrimental factor in the players ability to reach the form he had at his peak. I just can't see him getting back to that level this season
