Rapper Snoop Dogg has become a co-owner and investor at Swansea City after taking a minority stake in the Championship club.

Snoop Dogg was the surprise model as Swansea launched their home kit for the 2025-26 season last weekend.

The Swans have now announced that the 53-year-old American star has followed Real Madrid and Croatia legend Luka Modric by joining the club's ownership group.

"My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City," Snoop Dogg said on the club's website.

"The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me.

"I'm proud to be part of Swansea City."

Swansea announced in April that Modric, who this week joined AC Milan as a player, had acquired a stake in the club following a takeover led by American businessmen Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen last November.

Now Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, who has well in excess of 100 million social media followers, has come on board with a pledge "to do all I can to help the club".

Snoop Dogg's involvement is believed to have come about as a result of a mutual connection between him and Cravatt and Cohen.

Swansea's owners have made it clear that they want to raise the club's profile in an attempt to generate greater revenue, which will then allow them to invest more money in the team under profit and sustainability rules.

Snoop Dogg has told the under-fire Celtic board to give him a call to help end the turmoil at the club.

The celebrity Hoops fan also revealed he is willing to invest some of his millions into the Glasgow giants to help buy new players.

The US rapper also wants to see former boss Ange Postecoglou brought back to the club after Brendan Rodgers’ shock resignation.

The club’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond branded Rodgers’ conduct “divisive” in a blistering statement after he left – while the fans have held protests against the Hoops board.

In an exclusive interview Snoop Dogg, 54, worth £120million, insisted he would know how to keep the supporters happy if he got involved with the club.

Asked if he would take on a role at Parkhead, he The Drop It Like It’s Hot star, said: “I don’t know about coach, but as an investor sure. Investing in Celtic is something I have talked about in the past and if the opportunity was right I would be down for it.

“Celtic is a huge club and fans want to see the best players playing in this great stadium. All the owners have got to do is ask.”

Asked for his reaction to Rodgers leaving and being replaced by interim boss Martin O’Neill, Snoop said: “I love sport, and in sport players leave, coaches leave, and you move on.

You got to give Martin O’Neill big respect, he is coming back when we need him. I think you got to bring Ange back, the club are gonna do what they are gonna do but the fans would love to see him back.”

Snoop Dogg, who has been a Hoops fan since being gifted a club shirt in 2005, has previously spoken of his desire to open a burger van outside Celtic Park.

In July he became a co-owner and investor at Swansea City after taking a minority stake.
