he’s done the usual 3 years minimum. Now entering his 5th season with us. How often do we see players stay at long as that? Wonder if the club see the opportunity to make money on him now or possibly never if he ends up leaving for free.

 

The club don’t see any scenario where CCV leaves this summer. He’s settled and happy.

That said, there’s a lot of things the club seemingly don’t see; so at this point who knows.

 

You have to invest to speculate. CCV is getting a bit injury prone for my liking, and wasn't there some whispers CCV was wanting away ?

Looking at his position data he's much more of a left back at club level.

While we're in Calgari we should ask about Luvumbo, rapid attacker who can play anywhere along the front 3. Left footed would be great on the right side for us

 

Think he's being looked at for LB, not CB.

The Slovakian centre-back, who has been on Celtic’s radar this summer, signed a new long-term deal with the Sardinian club back in January, tying him to the Italian side until 2029. That fresh contract has significantly strengthened Cagliari’s hand in negotiations, and they are under no pressure to sell unless their full asking price is met




Obert, 22, is well-regarded within the Cagliari setup, and while the Hoops are believed to still hold interest, there’s no indication at this stage that they’re prepared to significantly raise their offer.

The defender’s name emerged as a potential addition to a central defensive unit that has already seen major changes this summer, with Jahmai Simpson-Pusey arriving on loan from Manchester City and Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki heading for the exit.



With Obert under a lengthy deal, Cagliari are taking their time in identifying possible replacements before sanctioning any move. It remains to be seen whether Celtic will revisit the deal later in the window, or move on to other targets as they look to balance defensive depth with other more urgent needs in the squad.

 

Feel like those above reports contradict each other, one saying we've had a £3 million bid rejected, the other saying there's been no offer.

 

As I said I only see this happening if Trusty moves. He's primarily a centre back who has filled in at left back - like Scales. If we sign him then it's certainly not as LB cover.

I do like the look of him though but defence is the last of our worries right now.

 

Trusty will go 100% after the UCL qualifer and ibrox

 

Kind of makes sense if he's a left back.

Rodgers said he was gonna * Inamura but would go into market if needed, so can see the point in us enquiring about a few left backs to keep our options open.

Think Inamura will likely get Falkirk and Livingston games before a decision is made
