Why the * would Dermot Desmond not want us to sign players to make the team better? Things took a turn when the then rangers directors behaved inappropriately in his eyes after a victory and he wasn't having it.

Why would he suddenly want to give them the chance to do that again. It makes no sense.

Saying that, our transfer windows - particularly the last 2 summers, make zero * sense.

If thays the case, we might as well start the process looking for the new yes man manager now.

It also doesn't make sense being DD choice. Why he isn't backing his guy. Only thing i can see if he's planning to sell it looks great to new buyers.

Needs explaining to me, how that * tight fisted, bunker humping, ignorant fat Pat Mustard lookalike holds so much sway with 34% of shares. How has he got so much influence over the rest of the board.

    The whole thing stinks.

Another Article from Paul Larkin on Substack

Gordon Strachan used to say Celtic were the only club in the world who could have a crisis in July. Well it’s July and I don’t think Celtic are in crisis but the plane is definitely circling its runway.
Brendan Rodgers has blocked the transfers of Marco Tillio and Yang in the last few days. Neither of these players should be anywhere near the first team so you know it’s a point he’s making and the point is is he’s fed up with how Celtic handle recruitment.
He was mightily * off in January when Kyogo was sold and not replaced but this is a far worse situation. Celtic need strengthening all over the pitch although the one person who appears not to see that is Dermot Desmond. Quite why he thinks that is beyond me short of simply refusing to spend money.
With Peter Lawwell seemingly out in the cold, Desmond has taken a bigger hand in things and they aren’t exactly going swimmingly. The stadium continues to creak and the only improvements this summer have been solely for the players and directors. The supporters needs don’t seem to matter to Dermot.
Meanwhile we rumble on with no apparent transfer strategy and a squad far weaker than last season.
The date we need to keep an eye on is August 14th when the squad for the Champions League qualifier needs submitted.
If that squad has no new signings in it; then Gordon Strachan might start quoting August as well.

Going into the first competitive game of the season with potentially Yang at RW is a damning indictment of the board. Once again we are found wanting at the start of competitive games.

The board are underperforming and the fact that we have seen this same situation on numerous occasions in the last decade and beyond show that nobody is held to account by DD. There is simply no foresight and strategy when it comes to recruitment, a recurring issue that has still not been addressed. The strategy this summer seems to be scattergun with us moving from target to target and lowballing clubs with offers far below their asking price.

The only logical conclusion is that the board do not wish to invest in the playing squad to a point where it is going to hit the profit margins.

The board are happy to rest on their laurels whilst exploiting and taking for granted the commitment of the fans, but are not happy to show the same commitment and investment in return.

DD and PL are in danger of increasingly polarising the suits from the supporters and we will see inevitable stagnation.

If there is a friction or battle for power between Rodger’s and Lawell, Rodger’s should call DD bluff and give him the two options as his cause will only be undermined.

It’s clear as day that if the status quo remains, Rodgers will be away at the end of the summer.

Brendan should release any dirt on them he has, instead of trying to talk to them.

Our board, what I'll need is a very thick stone wall, AK47 and several full magazine clips and I'll sort our board problems out.

I fired the AK47 many times but go for a R4/R5
    Instead it’s more accurate.

A part of me is saying the stuffed shirts in the Board are waiting to see, who we draw in the Champions League, before sanctioning loosening of the purse strings, and Rangers dropping points would have emboldened them.

I hope not, because it is very early days, and it would be dangerous to discount the Huns yet, especially with a difficult tie at Ibrox looming, and playing it risky with our Champions League qualifier.

This made me laugh a wee bit

From the Celtic Underground weekly on Substack

What’s a sensible CEO to do when the scouting department hands you a player who appears to tick every box the manager has been moaning about for six months? When they tell you he will be sold in 2 years time for about £20m, is available now for between £5m-£8m, and the player himself is practically packing his bags, buzzing at the thought of playing at Celtic Park and sampling the delights of Megasports at the Forge retail park?
And then, just to make the deal even sweeter, his club say they’ll take the low end of that reported price range. Just what does a shrewd, forward-thinking CEO do in that situation?
That’s right, he offers them £2m and an out of date Nando’s voucher, then goes back to watching clips of under-19s from Oostende in the hope that one of them used to have a Celtic subbuteo kit.

    Silence is deafening.

Selling Kuhn and not having replaced him by now is genuine grade A incompetence.
