It wasnt solved by Darwin........Darwin has a theory on the subject.....it doesnt mean that his theory is 100% full proof true. There are still many things that cant be explained by this theory.

For example. Species evolve from other species.....when they do they species they have evolved from die out as they are superseeded by a superior species. This was Darwin himself that came up with this theory.....but then...........

If we evolved form apes why do apes still exist? It doesnt make sense

We didn't evolve from apes specifically that you see today, we evolved from a species that was ape like, they were called neanderthals and to some extent denisovians.
Species that evolve don't die out, they EVOLVE. Its in the word you used, evolve :56:

It doesn’t make sense because this is a classic misunderstanding of the theory.

Humans did not evolve from apes, Humans and Apes both evolved from the same thing.

To us, the common ancestor between Humans and Apes may look Ape-like. To an Ape, the common ancestor may look more human-like.

It is also wrong to say a species is superior or inferior as it evolves into another. They simply evolve to become better suited to their environment.

In terms of a species dying out and being replaced.. this is a misunderstanding in general. Evolution happens over a very long period of time with very small changes. There is no concept of dying out or being replaced.

    ------

To give an example, let’s say there is a 4-legged mammal called Species A that lives on a generally flat plain.

If you take a group of that species (Say Group B) and put them in a dense jungle, assuming they survive, over millions of years they would evolve to become something closer to a monkey (in our eyes), since the members of the species better at navigating trees would tend to survive more and have more children. They would be better at navigating trees due to traits like having slightly longer arms, better balance, better spacial awareness etc. We're talking about a slow trend to these qualities over a long period of time. There would never at any point in the jungle that something closer to Species A would give birth or meet something closer to Group B.

You could at the same time take another group from Species A (say Group C) and put them in a plain covered in tall grass. Assuming again that they survive, they will evolve very differently from Species A and Group B. This time we would see something more human-like, i.e. straighter backs and able to stand up and eventually to walk standing up - because the evolutionary pressure here would favour members who can look over the tall grass. Again there would never be a point in the history where you would see the group and notice any particular difference among the members.

The changes are so slow you can never actual see it. It's often likened to our own aging process. There is never a time where you wake up feeling middle-aged and can say the day before you felt like young but inevitably you can say in the 2000s you were young and in the 2020s you are middle aged.

So after millions of years and definitely new species have emerged, what would happen if Species A met Group B and Group C?

Well that's what we see now, although it's important to remember that Species A was already on an evolutionary path of its own then the groups were separated, so it has continued to evolve to into Species D.

Species A could be the common ancestor.
    Group B is Monkeys
    Group C is Apes/Neandethals/Humans etc.
Species D could be something like a Meerkat or whatever (these are just rough examples to explain the point).

Whit? Evolution isn’t a theory, mate. It’s a scientific fact.

You also need to go and study evolution because it’s not what you think.

Tbf, it’s technically still known as ‘the theory of evolution’. It’s never been officially recognised by the scientific community as a scientific law (as e.g. ‘thr law of gravity’, etc), because up to a certain point it technically can’t be fully proven deductively.

Of course, a majority of the scientific community do recognise it as inductively the best available argument. However, even this isn’t enough to say without any doubt at all that it is the solely correct one. It’s therefore still technically classed as a theory.

Might seem like splitting hairs, but common sense dictates that calling even very probable things ‘fact’ when they’re technically not isn’t a wise habit to be in.

Edit: Worth pointing out also that ‘theory’ is not a diminutive or reductive term; it’s head and shoulders above ‘hypothesis’ in terms of credence. Those who correctly insist that evolution is technically a theory are not necessarily rubbishing it at all.

Celtic podcasts are painful to listen to they all just regurgitate the same opinions. They don't have an original thought between them.

Early days, but I wish we had signed Duk over Oh. Obviously, we can still sign Duk in the summer, but I doubt there will be enough minutes for both of them. Alternatively, we could have kept GG till the summer and replaced him with Duk.

He didn’t get more game time because was always injured, literally would play when fit.

Grand old team to play for
AJ should stop talking about how he loves the physical side of the game. At some point one of the hammer throwers in the league (or a lower division team ina cup) will put a right nasty one on him.

When I watch back some of the old highlights I realize that I loved Pat Bonner. But he was not the best goalkeeper. Some very dodgy moments.

Only to be trumped by Gordon Marshall and his slow motion attempts at diving for the ball.
