Jenz had his chance when Starfelt was injured and never grabbed it, so lets move on. Right now, he is in competition for our 4th choice CB with Welsh. Thats where he is. So no point in persisting with him, would rather invest resources in Lawel.
As for the Porteous talk, dont want that * anywhere near our club, he is a cheating *, way more suited to that mob fae across the river.

Defender Moritz Jenz is set to quit Celtic.

The German defender is on-loan from Lorient but is about to cut his Parkhead stay short. The loan deal was meant to be for the season, with a reported option to buy, but he will return to the French club in the January window. Jenz has grown frustrated with his lack of playing time at Celtic in recent weeks.

The former Fulham youngster has possible options in Germany for the second half of the season. The 23-year-old was a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s side before the World Cup break but hasn’t started a game since. The return to fitness of Carl Starfelt alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers has knocked him down the pecking order. Postecoglou has also brought in Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi and that has pushed Jenz further out of the picture. Jenz has not been in the Celtic squad for the last

Not surprising after Kobayashi was brought in, there was a lot of good things about his game but obviously needs the first team football just now to keep improving.

Should have been told he was no longer needed. Not better than anything we have already. Cheers for your handful of games and couple of goals.

Probably for the best he moves on, no point in hanging around for the second half of the season when he's not likely to get a game, Kobayashi looking like he's going to fit straight in and Iwata having plenty of experience at CB to cover, really we'd be needing 2-3 players injured for him to get a sniff now.

Some games better than others. I don't think he was ever any worse than OK, but OK isn't really good enough.

He has a lot of good attributes but it's just not adding up to a reliable centre back yet. A bit rash, too error prone. He has the potential and seems a decent sort. Hope his career takes off.

I actually liked Jenz and thought he was decent on the ball. I’ve no issues about him leaving if it means we try our best to find someone at the calibre of CCV, Maybe that is Kobayashi but time will tell.

Indeed. He got the physique, pace and height to become a great CB. His positional awareness, decision making and passing needs some heavy work to be a mainstay in any decent team in Europe. Abilitywise he's a little off our required standards unfortunatly. A shame really, because he seems like a good lad.

I can't remember him making a big error...someone mentioned error prone above. Actually thought he was decent but needs the game time.

I think he can be improved upon but he has the height, pace and is decent enough on the ball to become a good CB IMO.

    Good luck.to him.

I actually think he's fairly limited on the ball to play for Ainge. I believe this is the #1 reason he got benched.

Anyway, good luck to him. He's a decent player.

I think he's as good as Starfelt is. But the latter outshines him defensively.

He didn't make many glaring errors but I think his whole game (aside from a few really solid performances) was a bit rough. A lot of misplaced passes, getting too tight, not tracking runners. It wasn't constant or anything, but enough that I just didn't feel solid with him in there.

On the ball he tried progressive passes but gave it away a lot. I suspect that's the main reason why Ange is getting rid.

Fair enough. After all, Starfelt is fairly limited on the ball as well.

Thought he looked ok but was never convinced we would be looking to sign him permanently.
    All the best Moritz
