Really enjoyed that.

 

I think AJ may actually be better on the ball than Ralston from a technique perspective. His short passing is a bit more accurate, his first touch is cleaner, he's probably a bit more composed under pressure.

It's more the progressive aspects where Ralston compares favourably, especially crossing and those more searching balls played through the lines. Plus Ralston always looks like somebody who could pop up with a goal, whether that be getting on the end of a set piece or from open play. We haven't seen that from Johnson yet, apart from his chance today which he fluffed.

What neither of them possess is the ball carrying ability of Juranovic, who is very, very good at getting us quickly up the pitch and turning defence into attack.

It's early days yet though and hopefully with time learning a very different RB role, we'll start to see more from AJ in an attacking sense.

 

Unfortunately missed most of the game but from the 15 or so minutes I caught the pitch looked *.

Think I disagree everything in that first paragraph, AJ has been all bluster and high intensity so far, think he’s had a bit of lack of awareness of the play around him and has tended to smash it to McGregor quick as he can under pressure.

Further up the pitch anyway, seems a bit more composed further back the pitch

 

That's not what I've seen. He was a bit off it today, but in every other match he's been really safe with the ball, almost to a fault. But that could just be him playing cautiously until he learns the system and positioning, i.e. not wanting to get caught out up the pitch or put the team under pressure.

As for his general awareness, I think that's one of his strengths. Again, he may be a bit too quick to give the ball up to a teammate or opt for the safe option too often, but I don't think that has anything to do with a lack of composure.

I don't think we would have got the penalty if we were playing one of our nearest challengers (especially the huns) and I would love someone to tell me the difference between the award we got today and the non awards against the huns and hearts for even more blatant hand balls. If I was paranoid I would say it was an attempt to even things up so every * can say that we get dodgy VAR decisions as well.

 

I don't think we deserved a penalty for our first goal.

That penalty we did not get later in the game was more worthy of a spot kick.
VAR is stuffing up the game and not letting the referee run the show.

 

My opinion, your opinion - that's fine mate.

 

We should have shown contempt for the penalty by passing it straight to the keeper. "There you go Celtic, have a penalty in a game you are probably going to win by 3 or 4 goals anyway".

"Let's give celtic a non penalty. Then all the fans can claim its no a penalty and we can listen and not give one that's actually a penalty against any close rival or meaningful game"
