The clue is in the name. I got that.

The question posed is why they merit tips over other professions.

Nobody tips delivery drivers from supermarkets or couriers.

Yeah I’m generally against tip culture. It’s just a way for business to exploit workers

    Honestly, I don't anymore.

The two main reasons are that I don't carry physical cash anymore unless going to the car wash and I order off Just Eat most times so delivery/services charges are bundled in.

It’s not as important as a timely delivery of pakora and a bhuna though.

On a side note....my daughter works in a well known place that sells "outdoor" stuff part time.

I can't believe when she comes home frazzled because of old gammons treating her like *, I wait outside when picking her up hoping to bump into one of the *.

    * the tipping, * need to just treat * doing these jobs with respect.

I don't tip generally, but some of my family who pay in cash do. I think tip culture is a joke and people should get paid enough without tips. Having did deliveries before for a takeaway without tips they probably make half of what they do now.

I tip if the driver brings my food on time and you can see steam coming out of the bag, but if the driver is late and my grub is lukewarm then my tip to them is “do you want a tip ?, then drive faster’.

I try to avoid Just Eat if I can. It is very convenient, but they take a big cut of the transaction. That has forced takeaways to push up their prices.

Delivery driver is always rounded up same as most have said unless it’s only 50p or whatever then 3 quid will normally get added. Also tip everyone, the Windae cleaner and the bin cleaner even gets rounded up.

Based on nothing more than my wee grannies old saying (* rest her) ‘ye gie ye get’. Served me well so far.

    Usually about £2.

I tip taxi drivers about the same if they’re sound, and my barber gets an additional £5 every time.

There are a lot of arseholes out there that don’t know how to treat people. When I was a student I did some bar work over the summer and one of my first jobs at 18 was glass collecting in a pretentious bar/club in Aberdeen.

I wasn’t allowed to serve at the bar as it wasn’t my job and I wasn’t bar trained, but the average punter couldn’t understand that and would go mental at me for not serving them. I was spat on a couple of times and had glasses ‘accidentally’ smashed that I’d have to go and clean up, all because they had to wait a bit longer for their overpriced corona.

On top of that the bar staff refused to share their tips with us. Shittest job I’ve ever had.
