Once Spain knew that Germany were back ahead 3-2 and CR needed 2 they defo weren’t going to score against Japan I thought.

What a difference watching a side like Japan against a big hitter over those Polish shitebags yesterday..

Give me Japan any day. Even Costa Rica had a right go..

All four of our players through with their sides as well..

Still the Japan manager should geht the sack. He will never learn that he has the players to play high intensity football with. Their stamina is good enough to achieve more. But look what difference it made once Daizen was allowed to put their goalkeeper und er pressure. First goal he have the ball away thanks to Daizen's pressing.

Also defence needs to be sorted out. Yoshida i last his best. Is positioning often questionable. Bring in a competent manager who doesn't have his favourits and they're gonna be a real threat in für years!

I dont like the guy, his selections are questionable but he's just beaten both Spain and Germany and you think he should be sacked?

:giggle1: Sounds harsh but the Japanese complained about him before the WC. Good against big teams but struggling against dross was the criticism. Spain didn't need to win too, a lose even benefits them to a degree as they now potentially meet Brazil only in the final.

I see it like with Lennon. He won us a treble and five titles in a row but keeping hold of him cost us the 10. I don't think Moriyasu will succeed in fullfilling the potential Japan has. Look at his tactics and team selection against Costa Rica and first half against Spain. Sometimes you need to be pro-active and harsh in decisions in football.

So happy for Japan, was so convinced they wouldn't get out of the groups after chucking it away against Costa Rica.

It's a little bit bittersweet as Maeda seems to be loving it in terms of his form so it is kinda sad not seeing Hatate and Kyogo at least in among the squad enjoying it to.

Green tinted specs on but I believe a lot of people will have been talking about Hatate if he was playing.

On paper we've probably just broke over half a million just now and should be looking at around £1.5 million when all is done (all 4 of our players in last 16 and one of Jura or Maeda guaranteed quarter finalists for extra coin).

Not sure what the script is with FIFA compensating the other clubs our players played for competitively previously within the last 2 years though. I'm guessing (and hoping) we are still paid in full...

Edit: Patch that. Read up on it a bit on The Celtic Way. * knows how it works exactly :giggle1:

Just gonna guess we'll hit around £1 million like we did when we had 4 players at it in 2018. Still a decent return tbf.

Martinez was always imo such a bad appointment for Belgium national team.

For the talent they had, a better manager has them holding a trophy

Don’t rate Martinez all that highly but they have such a toxic group of players I don’t think they were ever going to win anything. Some serious talent in their squad but it will only go so far.

Decent money. Hearts will earn more from this WC than player sales over the last 10 years

Pity it wasn’t an Axis final between Japan and Germany.
Would really annoy the English press.

Postecoglou has been linked with the Japan job. With him, they wouldn’t know how to see games against big teams out, just like 4 years ago. Moriyasu just needs a better attacking coach to implement new ideas against teams with a low back line. As it stands, he’s got the ultimate plan as the underdog.

Still chuffed with that result with Japan. What a we team they have. Doing that without hatate aswel. Ooft. The fans looked mental aswel :56: bet it'd be some laugh celebrating with them. I ended up on a tour in Thailand with a load of young Japanese woman and they are mental. Best day of that holiday :56:

Thats it. I want Japan to win the full thing. Pumping Germany and Spain. Can't say there isn't a chance now. What a change that would be other than the usual france/brazil/Argentina love in. Mon japan! Miyagi do here we go!!!!

Taking into account the rules regarding what they've said about the shadow/circumference of the ball needing to be fully over, the ball was still in play from looking at that still they've released. I'd never have considered that to be in play previously and there's been loads of goals/balls on the line over the years that are now pretty contentious. Fact it took them so long to release that still was a problem though.
