Was fine, not particularly good or bad, given he was playing out of position. But, no way are we paying £6m for him.

No.

On first impression he does look like a downgrade on Juranovic, but that's the only 90 minutes I've ever watched him play so not much to judge on.

 

He's a very good player, likes a tackle, and plays inverted.
I'm glad he stayed under the radar for this game, so no one tries to pinch him from us at the last momrnt.

 

thought he was terrible overall. Positionally all over the place (except where he should have been!!).
Looked as though he was jogging about the place rather than tracking back with urgency.
Did hit a couplle of decent through balls & one over the top though.
Up against a top player so was a tough gig, but * it, thats who we should be measuring our players against if we want to progress.
Based on 1 game only, he wont be displacing anyone in the current set up.
Might be a project signing though so no panic.

 

Sorry mate, couldnt disagree more with this line of thinking. Agree he was up against a top team & indivually against an excellent footballer, but for me thats exactly how we should be judging our potentially new recruits looking for first team action. If we mean to measure players against Ross County then we cant expect the team to progress at European level. These are precisely the type of players they'll face & so its fair to measure them against that standard, if we mean to progress that is. Tough as it is, thats the standard we should be aiming for.

 

It's one game. Chill oot. I trust months of professional scouting over a one off game in the World Cup.

He's been one of Canada's best players for the last year or two, one of the best defenders in the MLS and kept Hazard at bay the other night. One bad night n folk are crying. Imagine Barca fans judging Messi off one bad game

I agree mate it's one game against a very decent side...if any one other than a Celtic fan had watched Juranovics performance in the Champions League games there's not a chance they'd want to sign him dosent mean he's not a good player

 

The whole of Canada didn't defend tenaciously, and although they threatened with pace, their defense was full of holes. Johnston was part of that defense. I want a FB with better defensive ability, but that might be hard, given how we play.

 

People need to chill, defo a player there. Get him in and JJ out for the right money in January and he will have 8 months to play second fiddle to Ralston while ange works his magic. Exactly what we are seeing with bernabei currently
