Nobody is writing him off but you can't say hes even been decent that half?

I'm not seeing anything at all that suggests that he's anything close to a 6m player (the only fee I've seen reported).

Don't think he's done too much wrong, Canada are getting * in the midfield so the defence are constantly on the back foot.

Dunno who * are watching if their calling him slow though, he's been shifting up and down the pitch at some rate.

 

Exactly right. Jura pish Johnstone good for the first 20...then they swapped about after that. VERY interesting second half coming up.

 

Mixed bag in that half

Positives: Looks composed passing the ball forward, made 1 crunching tackle, won a few headers

Negatives: 2 poor crosses, could have maybe done better at both Croatia goals. Looks a bit ropey at times

 

He's playing against a very good team at the world cup who have been on top for the last 25 mins. How would any of our current FBs look in this situation. We can't really judge until we see him in our team in our league.

 

The old TalkCeltic trope, player has a poor 45 minutes/game and he's suddenly *, happens all the time with our players too

 

Doubt many sensible fans are writing him off but people are allowed to form an initial opinion after watching him. His positioning was a bit suspect at times and he's nowhere near as quick as Juranovic so as it stands it looks like a possible downgrade.

 

Tbf to him...he's effectively playing as a right sided centre back in a 3 man defence.

Doesn't play there for Montreal and he won't play there for us.

 

Think most people are no saying he's *, but on that first 45 he doesn't look like he's a ready made player, going to dislodge Ralston any time soon. But again that's on 45 minutes of football, all celtic eyes on him. The first game he wasn't really mentioned in signing for till after the game.

 

Few people did say he'd played well the first game.

Folk moaning about him in this thread are clueless. He's put in a good shift and looked composed on the ball in a match that is basically the equivalent of Dundee United vs Chelsea.

Don't think he'll have any problem making the step up.

Put it this way if he wasn’t linked with us nobody would of mentioned him after the game. Maybe under Ange it will be a different story but i thought Canada made a decent account of themselves considering the gap in quality.

Of the Canada team only Buchanan and Davis looked impressive and the cheapest of the two would still set you back 20m

 

I shall place my trust in Ange and the scouting department. Haven't done too bad recently. He will be judged by his performances for me when in a Celtic shirt.
