Has he not been quoted before saying his dream job is to one day manage the Greece national team?

Not the slightest worried that he would manage Japan or Greece. No manager with ambition would take on a national team unless it's one of the big nations.

No chance he goes back to international management from us, if/when he moves on it will be for the challenge of a bigger league.

No chance he will take the Japan job. It would be a backward step for him.
He has unfinished business here and wants to build a team that will really challenge in the Champions League.

Hoops manager, Ange Postecoglou has just returned to his homeland as Celtic have landed in Australia to take on Sydney FC and Everton in the Sydney Super Cup later this week.

There is however, one more date in his diary that the manager didn’t have pencilled in when the down under fixtures were announced earlier this season.

He will be inducted into the Australian FA’s Hall of Fame later this week, joining many of the country’s greatest football stars.

He told Celtic TV: “I feel old. Usually when you get these things you’ve got a body of work behind you but I’m truly humbled.

“I guess from my perspective, the majority of my football journey was in Australia and for me it was always about how can I achieve things that I always watched and dreamt about when I was a kid and when I think about everything that’s happened to me in my professional life football has been the one constant through that.

'To be recognised in this way for me and my family, my father in particular, he was the one who set me off on this path.'

"I feel pretty blessed that everything I’ve achieved so far has been recognised in this way.”

Of course, there have been personal highlights along the way but the manager was keen to point out the lifelong friendships he’s made rather than that the plaudits attributed directly to him.

He said of the highlights: “Hopefully there’s more to come but nothing that stands out. I think along the way what’s been important to me is the people that it’s brought into my life – my best mates are guys I met at my football club when I was eight-years-old – South Melbourne.

“The people I’ve met along the way some of my best friends, some who are not friends but people who have helped me along the journey have all come from football.

“I think when you reflect, I’ve had a lot of success but it’s been about the people I’ve shared it with - the players, the coaches, the people involved at the football clubs.

“For me, that’s always been the No.1 thing to highlight, the people that it’s brought into my life.”

What sort of legacy have you attempted to leave in Australian football?

And the manager also hope many more will follow his path and aid when asked about what awards like this show to others, he said: “Hopefully that dreams are not put into boxes where wherever you’re born or where you grew up limits it.

“We’ve had players who have gone overseas and shown that growing up or being born in Australia isn’t an impediment to having the best career possible at the highest possible level."

Was the Japan approach for after this World Cup?

What did he do with Australia? Did he go to a WC with them or just qualify for it and leave before it happened?

He was in charge the year they had the group of death with Chile, Spain and Netherlands. Bit like us in the CL this year, ran Chile and Netherlands really close but got battered off Spain. Qualified for the next WC but left before it happened.

Also won their first ever Asian Cup.

If Ange does one day go to the EPL I believe it will be Leeds Utd. One club, one city. Away from the major cities, a strong fan base, history in the CL and top UK football, and would follow on from Bielsa with an attacking football philosophy.

He will be at Celtic for a long time if the fans want him.
