Gutted to see that the first company I'm aware of that is sponsoring the "dark ages" world cup, is Budwieser.

It's * and I haven't been near it in years

Who are the other main sponsors of this misogynistic * show?

Budwieser and McDonalds are * anyway.
So it looks like I'm boycotting Adidas.

It's a bit * that we're in bed with them.

Will just be avoiding the whole thing together. It’s shocking that in 2022 there are still people with backwards mindsets and will still happily stomp all over people and play about with their rights. Shocking but not all that surprising.

Budweiser…. ‘Official beer of the World Cup’…

… in a country where alcohol is almost universally frowned upon…

Like the Vatican having an official condom supplier.

I don't think many of the sponsors would be able to hold their heads high when it comes to the history of how they grew their brands (profits!),

Adidas, for example, have been accused of running sweatshops and using child-labour for decades.

Done the work competition to guess all the scores and winners, mainly to try and arouse some interest in it for me.

I don't think I'll even bother watching the world cup to be honest. First one I've absolutely no interest in.

Every big sports brand has, Nike are reportedly worse. The sad thing is any company large enough to sponsor an event the size of the world cup, in Qatar or otherwise, will have a shady past and/or present.

Budweiser wont be hard to boycott.

I will watch a few games, but has nothing to do with boycotting, but has to do more with no good games being played in the group stages. Will probably watch USA-England just to see CCV score the late winner.

I'll be regularly waking up in my Wanda group supplied home, driving my Kia to McDonald's, washing it down with a coke, paying for it with a visa card, before heading to the bars to watch every game on a Hisense TV and down pint after pint of an ice cold Budweiser.

I'll not pretend otherwise, it's football and it's the world cup, I'll be watching every game I can manage and hoping that teams like Spain, Argentina, Germany and Japan make it as far as possible.

Is FIFA corrupt to *? Of course they are, they have been for decades, let's not suddenly pretend we have only just found out.

Is Qatar a backwards country with their laws and treatment of women and sections of society that don't fit their "norm", 100%.
But again, let's not pretend this is new information to us all and we are all suddenly justice warriors.

There are many large countries around that area of the world that are every bit as horrific in their treatment of people's rights and then some.
But I'm not gonna jump on the pretend moral bandwagon and pretend I'm not going to watch a sport that I absolutely love and have watched for as long as I can remember.

If you all want to start pretending to protest against the sponsors of the world cup and be taken seriously, I imagine you'll be contacting your banking systems and employers and demanding they aren't paying you via Visa.

Yeah, let's be honest you can't just judging JUST the sponsors of this World Cup. You hear of dubious * in so many companies about how they treat employees or their supply chains and also their environmental impact on the Earth. If you wanted to just go with purely ethical companies you have to be pretty * wealthy or happy to live without (I respect those that are happy to do that too).

We (Scotland) have already done our bit by boycotting the tournament.... ;-)

Joking aside, it doesn't feel like a World Cup - wrong time of the year and there's been very little build up here in France.
