Penalty practice on the training field is to refine technique, players can be coached to deal with high pressure situations ie taking a penalty during a game, so I do think the players and club can do a lot to mitigate this!

Jura, you’re allowed to miss one.

He’s an excellent penalty taker and bizarrely normally has nerves of steel but he never looked confident hitting it last night.

Since posting this I’ve since listened to a podcast where I heard Juranovic scored the last five he’s taken. So aye it’ll be him.

Considering we didn't get one for like 25 games, then 2 in 2 games, lol... so yeah, some rust I guess, but even last yeae we were far from good from the spot, aside from Juranovic. If not on the pitch guess either GG or Turnbull.

GG has missed 2 since joining Celtic, but 20/21 when he won the Eredivise Golden Boot, he scored 8 from 9.

i remember an ole pelé video, he put a yard brush either side of the post just over the width of the ball and used both feet to take pens through the gap between the pole and either post.

    we aren't reinventing the wheel.

good technique, pace on the ball and into the corner / side netting you have a good chance to score.

You are hitting a ball unopposed with a free shot on goal - we dont really have anyone in the team who has a serious ping outside the box, maybe jota.

    1) JJ
    2) Mooy
    3) Kyogo?

Mentality is obviously a big part of it. Apparently Mile Jedinak (who wasn't a particularly amazing technical footballer or anything) never missed one in his professional career, and he regularly took them for Palace and Australia for years. So there could be someone in the side really good at them we just don't know about yet.

Juranovic or Jota, don't really mind.

I would give them to Greg Taylor. He is very calm and focused.
Juranovic's head is elsewhere at the moment

Jura scored 5/5 pens last season, not the best one midweek but he’d still be 1st pick for me. Then Jota, Haksa, Turnbull.

Didn't Turnbull used to take all of Motherwell's?

When signing players I'd like us to be looking out for some decent set piece takers and penalty takers..

Right now if we had a penalty shootout. Who would your top 5 be?

    I'd maybe go

Juranovic (Still number 1 but he'll be gone soon, which is an issue in itself)
Turnbull (pretty sure he hit all Motherwell's and would fancy him)
Haksabanovic (bottle and technical one I'm on about)
O'Riley or Abada (O'Riley good with set pieces and Abada a good finisher)
    Forrest (scored some big one's)

Some of them I've put in just because they look like they've got the bottle for it and good technically..

Someone with common sense. Hatate, CCV, Jota, Taylor. Still choose JJ as first choice though. He must not change his mind at the last moment.

He may stay at Celtic with a better contract. Glad to have him, everyone loves him.
