Would probably be the best thing for him tbh but poor for us that fans would have us essentially hounded a talented young player out of the club.

I don't see it that way. He's up against players like Forrest Jota Abada Maeda Hacksa etc.
So he's unlikely to make it with us.
But if he makes it elsewhere and gets us a transfer fee, then I see it asvwin win

Maybe a controversial opinion but I prefer a fit and firing MJ to Maeda or Adaba

He is atm able to compete well in a more difficult league than our players are currently playing in so there is every chance of him coming back here and staking a claim.

Given that some of our fanbase can't bring themselves to even congratulate the lad on how well he is doing over there, then he's better off away from them and it would serve us right.

That’s good form in what is a decent league. Hopefully he can kick on from that.

I think he's a great player and could really do a job for us, however he strugled for form/ fitness at the worst possible time.

If he comes back and forces his way into the team, then great, but if he decides to stay where he is, then he goes with my best wishes.
On a footnate if he stays in Portugal he'll probably score against us in the CL

Good to see him doing well. Still think there's a place for him in the squad, provided he adds consistency to his game.

A lot of our fans have been incredibly harsh on him.

Johnston has done nothing to suggest he’s a better option than either of those two.

I liked Johnston but he was doing nothing in a Celtic shirt the last few years.

Glad he's doing well. Maybe more a mental thing for him, playing somewhere he's unknown and in front of smaller crowds, less demands on his shoulders.

Maybe a move permanently away for a few years to continue his growth and mentality would be no bad thing for him.

Even as it stands, he still would be bottom of the winger pecking order at Parkhead.

Saying that, maybe some club will buy him for £20m after a 3 month purple patch.

At his best (which we've not seen often) I think he'd be able to compete with Forrest, Maeda and Abada. He's behind Jota and possibly Haksa but still has a lot of improvement in him as he's hardly played in the first team and he might make that improvement this season if he plays regularly. Look at the improvement in Ralston and Taylor when they got a run in the team.

Seems to be getting a decent run of games and staying injury free, still has a future with us if he can find his form from a couple of years ago

I would say it’s extremely controversial since MJ struggles to stay fit for a full season without having large spells out.

Both Maeda and Abada have for me done more in their time here than MJ.

when has MJ ever hit double figures in a season for the first team?

Think this loan move can be the making of him, a more technical league where he gets to use his skillset. He's been a different player since that night in Europe, devoid of confidence and picking up niggling injuries. I'm not sure if I see his future in a celtic jersey but his loan has done nothing but improve his chances. Always good to see.
