This is Huge for us. He 100% knows that he will need to play crazy good for us to have a chance to play for Portugal. Plus his price just increased.

 

Will be tricky to make that squad. Portugal have an abundance of talent right now, but what it does is show players from bigger nations that working hard with us will not go unnoticed.

Great achievement. He won’t make the World Cup squad though, especially being injured right now and missing CL games. Had he been playing and performing well last few weeks he could’ve had a chance I think.

 

If he turns up and gives a better showing in training than the others then can only hope the Portugal manager will pick him

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he expects Jota to return from injury in time for this weekend’s clash against Livingston.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s penultimate Champions League fixture versus Shakhtar Donetsk, the 57-year-old has been updating the media on his squad’s latest injury briefing.


The key man missing from first-team training at Lennoxtown earlier today was Celtic winger Jota, who has missed the last four games through injury.


Ange Postecoglou has been coy on giving any straight updates on the 23-year-old’s recovery from his recent knock. However, supporters were provided with a short injury timeline of when he should be expected back.




Once again, Tuesday’s clash with Shakhtar comes too early for the Portuguese attacker. But the Celtic boss expects to have Jota back in time for Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match against Livingston.



Jota, again, he sort of had his last rehab session today. So, he is expected to start training with us after tomorrow’s game and be available for the weekend.”

 

No one should be ever playing their first return from injury game, on the shity macaroni pitch.

 

Good stuff! Plus, it's great all round. It gives good players who are out of favour hope that if they come to us doors will open that are currently closed (O' Riley being selected for Denmark, Japanese lads trailblazing the way for their countrymen, Jota being called up) it puts us in the shop window (go to Celtic good things will happen for you).. and by being here, players win things and thus improve their skills and career = more dosh for us.

I’m not overly fussed he is out for tomorrow. Realistically I don’t think we can achieve third now anyway, so give him plenty time to make sure he comes back 100% ready. Not sure I’d play him at the weekend either just due to the pitch.
