Reo Hatate

Absolute hopeless today, honestly thought the motm thread was a * take. Fk knows what game they were watching.

 

Ran the midfield! O'Riley empty Jersey again.. Missing CalMac but he was still a class act, he has that High a Standard now that when he has a below par game, he's still class. IMO

 

He's no quite there yet but he's also getting noticeably fitter.

 

I thought he was our best midfielder by a mile today. Mooy was miles off the the pace and I was surprised he wasn’t hooked at half time. He did get slightly better later on however. O’Riley needs to try and get on the half turn more often. He is good enough to do it, but too often he gets it from the centre half and it ends up back with the centre half.

 

Pretty sure this is only his 3rd season as a pro

Played a hand in goals number 1 and 4. Class, class player. When he isn’t on the pitch he’s a bigger miss than anyone else in my view

 

His loose passing, particularly in the second half of games, is becoming a worry.

Going forward is fine and very often sublime, but his contribution to the keystone cops flangeball at the back is concerning.

 

I think the issue here is we don’t have a like for like energetic box to box midfielder to being on for him after 65/70 mins rather than what Hatate does. It would be one of my top priority signings in January as I don’t think Turnbull, Mooy or pushing McGregor up is anything near a like for like change. It also means he pretty much has started nearly every game.

He is inconsistent from game to game but this season he has 3 or 4 good games to every poorer one and has been great for us overall.

He covers some amount of ground in a game and puts everything into it. We also need to remember he is relatively inexperienced despite his age in FT senior football given he didn’t turn pro until he was 22.

 

I think O'Riley has been seriously out of form, which in a way is highlighting Hatate.

As a result, I'd be more concerned with Hatate potentially being the one leaving first if he keeps this up, I just don't see any meaningful move on the cards for O'Riley right now unless he picks up his form.

 

I dont think any of the japanese players would leave us. If they perform, i can see them all staying for a long time as they wont leave a club that have 4 japanese players making their life much happier and easier. They wont join a club and struggle with the language and culture without having other countrymen by their side.

Similar to O’Reilly he was inconsistent, that one at the end was infuriating, had 3 players to pick out and hits it at the 1 Shaktar player.

 

He sorts out his passing at times he will be first class.

some of the passing the night was class others utter *.

Think he needs to be more ruthless with giving fouls away in the middle of the park as well.

 

Thought he was good 1st half, but his passing went to *, there was a stage he must have had 7 out of 8 bad passes in a row.

Don't know who the other 2 jokers were at the goal, trying to kick the ball outside their box, but fk me.

 

Gave the ball away far too much and eventually it cost us a goal, slowed down every chance to make a quick counter attack and was ineffective at doing the job Kyogo had been doing after he was subbed.
Disappointing

 

Started well but his brain seems to turn to playdoh when he's tired.

 

He and O'Reily still have levels to improve. Cal is fine.

It's the others we need to trade up.
