Where do we keep finding these jittery, mistake-ridden defenders from? The Lorient fans were on social media saying how error-prone he was for them and yet we have watched the same performances and thought "yeah this is the guy for us".

 

He's another Jullien. Woeful performance. Lacks so much aggression..

 

Had a bad game today, incredibly lucky to stay on.

Im still extremely happy we have him, and he will learn from today - and his performance hasn’t cost us, so we move on and he will improve.

I like him but he was poor today.

 

I think he's been good overall, but like most today, wasn't great. Won't hold it against him, happens.

 

He needs to learn from games like this, was the same against St.Mirren. Needs to start using his * size and be more aggressive.

Also lucky as * cause that could of easily been a 2nd yellow for the penalty, I’d of been screaming for a 2nd yellow if it was a diets player.

What the * are CBs meant to do now with VAR? Just stand about and let the player take ball under control?

 

Aye, the one decision today that went our way.

 

I don't think he was any worse defensively than usual I always feel he has a mistake him we seem to specialise in finding these types of centre backs

 

It's the criterion of being good on the ball that we usually emphasize, and when you're looking for a cheap CB that's good on the ball, you usually get one with defensive frailties.

 

Both he and CCV made mistakes today. Lucky to stay on the pitch after giving away the cheap penalty. Still like him though and think there's a really good player in there.

 

CCv may have given away a penalty but he wasn't anything like Jenz who, in my view, had no control of the game whatsoever.

At least CCV headed everything away in the last 15 minutes or so. Jenz always looked dodgy. He seems to struggle when the opposition gets more physical.

Cant disagree with the penalty shouts tbh. No ball, got man. Penalty. The type of thing we are denied game after game.

These are the games he's struggled in, against aggressive, physical sides. I dread to think what would have happened today if it'd been Welsh alongside him instead of CCV (who wasn't even great himself).

One thing I've noticed about Jenz is that even under no pressure, his passing can be a bit slack. Starfelt and CCV were really crisp with their passing to feet last season, routinely playing each other onto the ball. Jenz will often pass it just that touch behind CCV or not quite with the right pace, which can knock us slightly off our rhythm.
