I'd even throw Abildgaard in at CB. Or minimum have him screening the defence.

CCV a massive loss. I think 5 CBs at a club our size isn't out of the question. Wouldn't be surprised if we bring one in January.

Unfortunately that's what I'm thinking too. He's a rock and will be badly missed.

He got injured before it. Dunno how long Ange said before the St Mirren game he was hopeful he would be back for the games after the break

We really need the big man back as our defence was bullied by St Mirren. Any word re Starfelt?

Our second most important player after Cal I'd wager.

    Come back soon, sweet prince.

CELTIC are facing mounting injury problems ahead of Saturday’s Premiership clash with Motherwell.

SunSport understands Cameron Carter-Vickers remains a major doubt after missing the 2-0 defeat to St Mirren ten days ago.

The USA star, pulled out of international duty and could be joined on the sidelines by several team-mates as bossAnge Postecoglou sweats on updates.

Sead Haksabanovic limped off early in Montenegro’s 2-0 defeat to Finland on Monday night and is a doubt for Well’s visit.

Daizen Maeda sat out Japan’s friendly with Ecuador yesterday with a thigh problem and will be assessed on his return.

Giorgos Giakoumakis was absent from the Greece squad again as they took on Northern Ireland last night.

I think it is actually normal when you play a lot in the amount of competitions and internationals as we do

Gonna be a tough few games on Europe without him there.

Such an important player for us.

Finally we get to games in the champions league where we have a realistic chance of winning and picking up the valuable needed points.... and everyone gets *.

It wouldn't be celtic if it never happened right enough.

So, are these internationals worth it if it means our players miss the bread and butter league games and, more importantly, our Champions League games?. I'm sure there are other teams who say their players have an injury in order to avoid their players being called up :fear:

I know we lost a good few players because of internationals but CCV wasn’t one of them he hurt himself vs Shakhtar or in training before the St Mirren game.

Giakoumakis and Turnbull seem to have turned up for internationals with injuries or niggles. Maeda was a training injury and Haksabanovic was actually the only one injured in a game.

Still rotten luck for us to pick up so many.
