Would prefer Jenz tomorrow anyway. But it’s a blow us he’s just getting back to match fitness and then another injury.

Defo a blow for us but nothing major.

I love the big man and rate him, but, he still has moments were he can have a wee brain fart and against a team like Madrid it just can’t happen, we’ll get punished.

Jenz looks like he strolls through games like CCV from what we’ve seen so far, so could be a blessing in disguise for tomorrow.

I really like the big man but get the feeling Jenz will make himself first choice now. I just feel he has more in his locker and a higher ceiling.

But the Celtic manager also confirmed that defender Carl Starfelt will miss out after suffering an injury in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Rangers.

Starfelt went off with a knee problem early in the second half of Saturday’s derby. Moritz Jenz replaced the Sweden centre-back to make his fifth appearance of the season.

Postecoglou added: “We haven’t had an exact diagnosis. It’s nothing too serious but it will probably keep him out for a couple of weeks.

CELTIC have been rocked by the news Carl Starfelt will be out of action until next month.

SunSport understands the Swedish defender does not require surgery for the knee injury he suffered in last week’s 4-0 win over Rangers.

However, Starfelt has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk and next Sunday’s Premiership match against St Mirren, with both games set to go ahead.

The 27-year-old will also be unavailable for Sweden’s Nations League double-header against Serbia and Slovenia on September 24 and 27.

Celts host Motherwell on October 1 and then face RB Leipzig in the Champions League four days later.

Starfelt is desperate to be back for those games, especially as loan signing Moritz Jenz now has the chance to establish himself alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers.

It’s been a frustrating campaign for Starfelt after a hamstring tear suffered on international duty in June saw him miss the first two games of the new season.

The former Rubin Kazan centre-half was cruising through the hammering of Gers but suffered a knee issue and was replaced by Jenz.

Shame but with the break coming up it'll hopefully allow him to get some good sessions in and come back ready.

Jenz first choice for me right now though.

Not really, CCV was "cruising", Starfelt was doing well but that header straight to a hun was a schoolboy error and also getting shrugged off the ball when LB swung in a cross in first half.

I think he is like Rogic, where he will need 4 or 5 games to get back in to the swing of things. Injury aside I think Jenz is ahead of him just now

    Need him back.

Him and CCV were huge for us last season. Really could be doing with that partnership playing consistently again.

You know what’s annoying he injured himself chasing a bad touch trying to win a loose ball
and kicking one of them in the process. Such a silly incident.
