Starting him and Turnbull in the same midfield is madness. Both as slow as a week in the jail.

Think they realised this and switched McGregor and Mooy around but game was running away from us at that point.

Yeah, and if you start either of them then you need Hatate playing.

As soon as Hatate drops out your options are Mooy, Turnbull and O'Riley. The latter of the three is clearly the best, but they would all fit in with the Granda walking football you see at 5's, such is the lack of pace and energy.

Basically Hatate should never be dropped unless he's injured or woefully out of form like the end of last season.

Comfortable in possession but not good enough to be the heart beat of our team.

    He's certainly no pace maker.

A poor man's Nir Bitton. Should never start again unless enforced.

Don't want to be unkind to him, but it's like watching a competition winner with chronic athritis. :56:

Hilarious reading from page 49 backwards.

Filled with pompous replies of users detailing how they can see Mooy’s qualities and others can’t.

Mooy must be laughing. £10k a week, back in the missus’ hometown, sauntering about every game unfit and passing every ball back. Pure garbage.

Don't want to see him or anyone else be a scapegoat for today.
If he starts for us again it's likely to be alongside fewer second choice players.

In his short time he has shown that he can come into a settled side and make a decent contribution.

I have the same issue with him I did with Bitton, they are players that can only play at the one tempo, which is fine when you are winning and just want to see games out, or they are brought on against tiring teams, but when it isn't happening for the team and you need to quicken the intensity of play and get a spark they are not the player you want to see. It's only exacerbated when they are playing along side another releatively slow player, like Turnbull, in the heart of midfield. Either or could probably be accommodated, but not both together, definitely not from the start against teams that are going to sit deep and hit us on the counter.

I don't think he's a bad player to have, but he needs to be used in specific circumstances for me.

he's a sub to slow the game down and see things out, he shouldnt be anywhere near a starting spot.

    Bit harsh on him IMO.

I think he’s started to show some excellent form and today he was as * as the rest of the team were.

From what I’ve seen he’s too basic and slow. Can’t really describe him any other way.

He was getting bullied off the ball in the middle from early on..

Taking an age to do anything. No good enough Paul. Nowhere near it for what was his first start if I remember right. He was in to dictate and dominate that game and got dominated..

Agree he was poor, but don’t know why he played him alongside Turnbull who’s another slow carthorse

    Some decisions were bizzare..

Tight pitch where we need to unlock a defence and goes with Maeda..

The slow midfield and our 2 creative player's out..

    No Jackie..

A senior player like him has to impose his self though. He was terrible..

Honestly mate, lot of people saying it’s okay in hindsight but everyone thought from the start that team would beat st mirren, been excited as * for the game s recently but as soon as I saw the line up with mooy and Turnbull in the midfield a genuinely felt deflated, not 1 ounce of creativity between them and both slow as a week in the jail, hopefully the big danish boy hit s the ground running so I don’t see either of the 2 of them in the starting line up again unless were playing Ek fc in the Scottish cup

Who comes out of that with pass marks today?

Our captain who is the most reliable user of the ball in the country was miscontrolling and misplacing passes, won’t read too much into myself.
