Can’t see many St.Mirren fans applauding either, probably more silence from their end.

Maybe a better idea for everyone to stay silent instead of applauding, would probably * the * off even more :giggle1:

Give game time to Haskabanovic, Abildgaard and Bernabei once we are hopefully comfortable.

I have never been disapointed in any team selection that Ange had made.

Disagreed on a few occasions, but never been disapointed.

However if we don't use our squad for this one I will be disapointed

Even aside from the queens death I think minutes applause is the best tribute to anyone that has passed.

I think this will be a more difficult game than a lot are predicting, but confident we won't slip up.

Fully expect the opening minutes to be muted by the broadcaster which I'm not even at all bothered about this time, sooner things are back to normal and were not talking about it the better

Always liked it more how Celtic did it for past players than the minute of silence we do here in Switzerland. These players brought us joy, so much better to celebrate them a last time.

I am hoping off the back of the way the team looked at full time on Wednesday and Ange’s press conference that they will be desperate to get back out there and put a few goals away.

This team has shown a real hunger so far this year in all games. Being that same attitude and we will win this game. You know they will sit deep and try make it tricky but ultimately we have a lot of fire power just now in the squad.

Mooy, Ralston and Haksabanovic to start.

I want to be on easy street early and get some minutes for Bernabei and Abildgaard.

    Get the party started Bhoys

Sky Sports’ production staff have been instructed to turn down sound levels or even switch off individual microphones during their live coverage of Celtic’s Scottish Premiership trip to St Mirren on Sunday if away fans sing offensive chants about the Queen.

BT Sport were forced to apologise after their camera crews honed in on an offensive banner during Celtic’s Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday and Sky staff have been primed to avoid a repeat

All broadcasters are bound by Ofcom regulations which state they should avoid televising any material that could cause offence to viewers, and the regulator is understood to have provided further guidance this week that insulting material about the Queen falls into that category.

St Mirren confirmed yesterday that they will hold a minute’s applause before the Celtic game tomorrow rather than the customary silence that has been observed at almost every other ground in the UK amid fears of mass booing from the visiting fans

They are just digging a big hole for themselves…

They’ll be getting it every game for weeks…

Hope there’s plenty at the internationals.

Game v Ireland should be interesting.

Bit of history could happen this weekend...

If Celtic avoid defeat, it will be just the 4th time in all of the club's history that the Hoops will have gone a full year or more unbeaten. The current undefeated streak has been going since 19 September 2021.

Some have come so narrowly close - Martin O'Neill's team came within days of accomplishing this feat twice, and even Jock Stein and his famed side of the late 1960's fell agonizingly 2 days short in September 1968. And in the wilderness of the 1990's, Tommy Burns' Bhoys fell also just a few days shy in 1996.

But only three have previously made it all the way to clock a full year without recording a single League defeat!

The first Bhoys to accomplish this was way, way, way back, between 4 September 1897 until the 10th of September 1898 to reach the landmark - albeit there were just 21 league games in that period.

The next was Willie Maley's side during the First World War, that went unbeaten for an astonishing 62 League games between November 1915 - April 1917! (The Scottish Cup was not held during WWI, so that entire streak was pure League games).

And the most recent time the milestone has been reached, was when the Bhoys amassed 56 League games as part of the 69 domestic games undefeated run, between May 2016 & December 2017.
