Need Madrid to clean sweep the other 2..

I think we'll do Shakhtar at home with our crowd and tempo. They definitely couldn't cope with it..

Be nice if that Mudryk gets an injury or suspensions as he's their only danger man but some threat to be fair..

If they didn't win in Germany, third be a certainty for us at least knowing they've got Madrid back to back then coming to us....but just makes it that bit harder as they've got 4 banked already..

Just for talking sake if we both lose our next 2 and we beat them at Celtic Park, we'd go above them on head to head wouldn't we?

I'd bite the hand off for third as it stands. Would be progress....although really fancied us for second before today..

Aye if us and Shakhtar finished level and we beat them at home we’d be ahead.

Also could argue that Shakthat beating Leipzig last week leaves us in the chance for 2nd while making it tougher for 3rd in a weird way. If Leipzig had won last week I’d be less confident about finishing 2nd than I am.

    Delighted with that Leipzig result.

I always said 2 points from the first three games should put us in a strong position for Europe after Christmas.

Tonight was a huge opportunity missed. One that could bite us on the * but that's what happens at this level.

The main objective has always been Europe after Christmas. Finishing second would be a bonus.

If we are going to qualify, we need to take three points in the double header against Leipzig and beat Shaktar at home. Confident of the latter. Unsure of the former.

Need Real Madrid to continue to clean house.

Aye that's a good point to be fair and after today's showing....we should be going in to it looking to get something in both game's if Shakhtar put 4 past them away..

Need to brush up on our finishing. At this level, it'll always cost us if we put so many wide. Can't really even remember how many time's we troubled their keeper?

Real will beat Shakhtar home and away.

We should expect at least 3 points in the games vs. Leipzig, if not possibly 4. I feel more confident about the away game, than I do the home game for some reason.

Imagine the table looked like this before the home game vs. Shakhtar:

    Real Madrid… 12
    Celtic… 5
    Shakhtar… 4
    RB Leipzig… 1

Todays result felt like a defeat at the time but I’m still positive we can get something out of this.

Kyogo’s one after a minute or two and Jenz just before the equaliser where the only ones of note I can recall as well.

Long and short of it is, we need to win our next two home games.

If we do that, then I think that guarantees second, as long as Madrid hold up their end of the bargain and take max points against Shakhtar and Leipzig.

Max Leipzig could finish on would be 6 points in this instance.

Max Shakhtar could finish on would be 7 points.

If we win our next 2 home games then we have 7 points and would go through based on either of the permutations above.

I have a slight worry about Leipzig at home to Madrid on game 5 though..

Loads can happen but I'm expecting Madrid to be on 12 and first place confirmed..

They won't go to Germany at full strength I don't think. Could see Leipzig getting something in that but fuckit....bring it on. Hopefully we can take at least 3 point's off them and get a better head to head at the very least and then do Shakhtar at home..

I'm kinda forgetting Leipzig are bottom with no point's..

Big if but if we can go there and avoid defeat then we’ll be in a great position..

Yeah I think even if we took the 3 points tonight we would still have needed a result against Leipzig. So in the context of the table I still think it’s as you were, not much has changed..

Think it’s actually wide open at the minute..

The 2 remaining home games are crucial if we win them 2 we are are surely guaranteed 3rd. If we got 4 from RB that would set up Shakhtar at home perfectly. But that’s getting a bit carried away I know…another good performance away to RB and I’ll be pretty happy even if it’s a narrow loss but would mean we need to beat them at home.

Still think there's a blip in here for Real.

Hopefully last day against us but I'm not sure. I can see Leipzig beating them at home. By all accounts they played well tonight?

If Madrid win their next 3 games all we have to do is win our two home games and we've qualified for the last 16.

Easier said than done but we're still well in with a shout of second.

Aye that’s the worry as well. I don’t see Madrid winning in Germany, If they do though, two home wins sees us through, barring a miracle for Shakhtar.

But at the same time, with Real likely through, who’s to say we don’t take something at the Bernebeau.

Just need to be more clinical in the final 4 games and take chances. Would be more worried if we weren’t creating anything.

Got a link to that video mate? Love watching stuff like that. Shows how far we've come under Ange. We're no longer a park the bus team we actually try to play football.

Avoid defeat in Leipzig and I'd fancy us but I just wish to * we won tonight and it doesn't mean as much pressure on the next one

Win one of the Leipzig games with Madrid taking care of Shakh.

    Madrid 12
    Celtic 4
    Shakh 4
    Leipzig 3

Celtic vs Shakh to secure at least 3rd spot..

& if Madrid beat Leipzig on the same night it’ll secure 2nd for us.

Still gutted we didn’t get the win but a point is still a big result in terms of the group.
