If it wasn't for the fact that our players KNEW we were playing the best team in the world, we could have been 2 nil up before they scored.

Just found it there that they beat Leipzig 4-1 ffs! Thought it was 2-1. Asked in another thread if they were lucky to win over there thinking it was just the 2 they scored. Has me a bit more worried now

 

I’ve changed my mind id go with Jota right and Haksobanovic left. Harsh on Abada but I feel Haksobanovic just looks more comfortable on the ball. Abada still young and looked a bit nervy last week where Haksa looked fine and more confident on the ball.

Espanyol and Getafe beat them in the league last year, and they were both in a relegation scrap. I think Barca hammered them 0-4 in the Bernabeu, and even Sheriff Tiraspol beat them in Madrid 1-2 in the group stages last year.

They're obviously a very good team when they're in the mood, but also not exactly unbeatable either.

Time to move on and stop looking for pats on the back for almost achieving something. Maybe we'll take their scalp in Madrid... who knows.

We'll need to put it together for the whole 90mins against Shakhtar, if we want any hope of getting something out of that game. No half jobs will do.

Have a feeling this will be tough. On paper they are the weakest team we will face in the group but they got off to a flyer last week and despite this being played in Poland, their fans will make it hostile.

GG, Abilgaard and Haskabanovic could all make their way into the starting 11 - depending on fitness for the last 2.

 

Kyogo has to start this one. He really makes us tick. There was a general feeling that Shakhtar would be the weakest team in the group- their thrashing of Leipzig laid down a marker. They will be no whipping boys. Only dilemma is does Maeda start over Abada I think the rest of the team more or less picks itself.
