Football Scotland don’t have a clue what’s going on at Celtic let alone in France take with a punch of salt

Football Scotland have been absolutely spot on this window. They were the only ones to quash the Michut rumours and have been pretty on the ball so far.

Fair point. I think most of us expected a wee windfall off of his next move though. I was also being a bit tongue in cheek calling him a *. :58:

Manchester United are still considering a move for Lyon forward Moussa Dembele in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window and remain in contact with the player's representatives.

Erik ten Hag is desperate to add some extra firepower to his forward line before deadline day on September 1, with the French forward still being considered for a possible late swoop.

The Manchester Evening Newsrevealed back in March that United were looking at Dembele ahead of the summer window and it is understood they are still looking at the 26-year-old as a potential addition.

Dembele only has one-year left on his current deal at Lyon, and many clubs are already positioning themselves for a free transfer next summer in case the forward runs down his time at the Ligue 1 club.

It is understood the French forward has already rejected an offer from Everton this summer, while La Liga side Villarreal are also keen on a deal but have been unable to convince him to join.

Sources close to the player have reiterated that Dembele will not move for the sake of it and that he will only do so for the 'right club' on the right terms.

Lyon recruitment manager Bruno Cheyrou has already offered an ultimatum to players in their final year at the club, telling those soon to be out-of-contract players that they must agree to new terms or risk being sold this summer.

Dembele netted 22 goals in 36 appearances for Lyon last season, but his place in the team has been thrown into doubt after former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette re-joined the club this summer.

Would be mental to leave just now, rather than wait till he's a free agent and have his pick of clubs.

    I'd go to man utd.

Theyll loose Ronaldo. He'll instantly be first choice.

Theyll also offer him 200k a week or something daft. Exactly the type of player they should go for. Someone good enough to get top 4 and a solid foundation. That's when they add the £100m+ signings.

Also we will get a sell on. So he better go :56:

He’s the type of player they should’ve signed when he played for us.

Snobbery costs these clubs absolute millions.

I know a couple Man City season book holders, can remember when they signed Stones for £50m saying a better player left us for £12m a year before in Van Dijk.

Got laughed at. They can no longer remember that conversation, funny enough.

They’re talking £10m for him the now btw, which is mad and a don’t get it but they might sign a better player than he was at us now for less.

MOUSSA DEMBELE has been told he can leave French side Lyon after stalling on a new contract offered by Peter Bosz - but the Celtic could miss out on a pay day as a result.

The French striker left Parkhead in 2018 for £20million as he headed back to his homeland and Celtic stuck a 15% sell-on clause on his head after a stunning couple of seasons under Brendan Rodgers.

His goalscoring touch continued in France as he found the back of the net 21 times which has saw him catch the eye of crisis club Manchester United in recent days after a new deal was thrown out ahead of the new campaign.

With Dembele set for an exit it is thought that Lyon will want to recoup most of the £20m they spent on securing the striker's stunning transfer three seasons ago.

This could net Celtic a £3million transfer windfall as a result.

West Ham, Southampton and Fulham have all expressed an interest in taking the striker back to England.

But according to RMC Sport Italian giants Juventus could be set to steal a march on the Old Trafford side whose attentions currently lie on securing the services of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.

The French Radio station claim that Juventus could steal a march on those interested in the Frenchman's services by offering a lucrative pre-contract agreement.

The Italian giants have been known to be shrewd customers in the free market in recent years - signing the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey and Paul Pogba in recent times.

While Lyon are keen on obtaining a fee for the striker, reports in France suggest that he is in no rush to leave the club as he looks to weigh up his options ahead of his next move at the end of the season.

This could put the Turin side in pole position to secure his signature.

If this were to be the case it would be bad news for the Parkhead side as they could miss out on a windfall from the talented striker for the second time.

Dembele sealed a loan move with an option to buy the 26-year-old in January 2021.

Despite winning the league in Madrid Diego Simeone didn't take up the option to buy the striker as he only made five appearances.

This meant that Celtic missed out on a 15% cut of the £30m pre-agreed fee in the deal before he went back to Lyon.

It’s very rare you see players at his level post about their ex club, especially one that they had no affiliation with before playing for them.

I love hearing Klopp saying how much Van Dijk and Andy Robertson obsess over our results.
