I genuinely have no malice towards her. She seemed to be good at her job even if her job entailed simply smiling and waving to keep her and her family in untold luxury.

The faux-romanticism of all of this is sickening though, and genuinely something that I don’t think she herself would be in favour of. Let people mourn if they truly feel the need to (even if I view mourning the death of a 96 year old woman who doesn’t know you exist to be a bit odd), but don’t drag everyone else into it. There’s absolutely no need to be cancelling sporting events or closing everything down in order for the vast majority of us to pretend to really give a *.

It’s a * enough time for people as it is without effectively forcing the entire country to go through some period of grieving. This is not a tragedy by any measure and shouldn’t be treated as such.

Trevor Sinclair has been taken off the air by talkSPORT after a tweet following the Queen ’s death caused outrage in some quarters.
After news of Elizabeth II’s passing was announced, the former Queens Park Rangers, West Ham and Manchester City star sought to make a point about the lack of action he perceives has been taken in order to tackle racism. He tweeted: "Racism was outlawed in England in the 60’s & its been allowed to thrive so why should black & brown mourn!! #queen."

    Good on him.

I find it very disappointing and a little sad that, in the 21st century, the various people of Britain are prepared, not only to tolerate, but to actively support the idea of a Monarchy. Kings, Queens, Princes and all the other bullshit should have been done away with long ago along with the old superstitions and the belief that the world is flat. To pay, literally, billions of pounds every year for the upkeep and comfort of one family, any family, is wrong. When that family is already one of the richest on earth makes it madness and to do it at a time when the money could be put to so much better use helping hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of other people makes it immoral. It genuinely saddens and baffles me that some of the nicest most sensible people I know buy into and support the myth of the Royal family "serving" or being of some use to the countries of Britain. As for the future of the Monarchy my solution would be this...... a vote for everyone over 18, if more than 50% want it to remain then fine BUT they have to pay a Monarchy tax for the upkeep of Charles and co. whilst anyone who voted to scrap that troublesome institution would be exempt. Might not be a perfect solution but it would certainly be more fair.

It's one of the ironies of this whole business that the same media outlets that have been bombarding us with programs, interviews and agendas telling us how we are all equal no matter what colour, race, * or Religion we are are now pushing all this propaganda which just goes to prove how we are all certainly NOT equal, the Queen being set on a pedestal above the rest of us as we are all pushed and coerced by operation "Mourn the Queen".

My da passed away at around midday.

    Lifelong ardent Celtic supporter.

Nice to know the UK is remembering the loss.

    Hail hail da.

    Outlived the queen
