Windsor was a legitimate target that could have been attacked at any point during the war, considering the Queen was a child during the blitz its not really surprising that she was evacuated out of London like every other child at this time,
the fact she went on to serve and the fact her family continued to reside in Buckingham palace for morale purposes even though it was hit 9 times gets my respect, 'a privileged *' would have been on the first boat out of the country

They had to stay in London…..

They’d missed the last boat connection to Berlin.

The fact you guys are called her subjects, as if you were her slaves, would make me mad enough to do with royal family what the French did with theirs. Ffs how can you subjects even look in the mirror in the morning, knowing you're not citizens but subjects. Will never understand that * system :giggle1:

I'm no lover of the monarchy, I said the traditions are outdated and the hero worship is ridiculous in my original post.. with that being said I enjoy countering black and white viewpoints but people don't like when you do that

    haha

She would have been lucky to live his life :(

I can't my contrarian side is enjoying it too much

The monarchy isn't really an owner of anyone mate just a figurehead, parliament sorted that out centuries ago, they are a leader to rally around in times of crisis tho and it works pretty effectively in wartime, also to have someone higher up that the Prime minister has to report to each week is quite effective at keeping his or ego in check, as long as the monarch is neutral. Holding the executive to account and all that.
