Pretty gutted by it despite showing up well overall.

    We’re relentless but they’re * ruthless.

Abada scores one v one, McGregor, Maeda tap in.. there were more chances! Just feeling like what could have been at the moment. But just proud of the players and fans and club tonight HH Bhoys and Ghirls :57:

Huns all over Twitter claiming a banana was thrown at Vinicius… based on a grainy photo of a yellowish object at his feet

What has to be remembered tonight is that Ange decided to play his way and what did we get from it? Big chances for Giakoumakis, Maeda, and Abada. Not to mention McGregor hitting the post.

Madrid left here very lucky to have waltzed out with a clean sheet. It used to be the case that getting opportunities against sides of this calibre was rare. We had plenty tonight.

    That's absolutely massive.

Would have been 6-0 if it was Lennon.

Ange should’ve made the changes after 1st goal imo, was clear we were tiring. Can’t afford not to take our chances at this level especially against them. Team gave everything though. Hazard can’t even get in their starting 11 ffs, that’s what we’re dealing with.

That first goal from them was ridiculous. The playing out from the back, wee flicks and first time balls, the final pass from Valverde. That's the gulf. But we're really not far off challenging sides like this, and I fully believe we'll get there with Ange in charge.

That's why you should never associate with huns mate. They lie, cheat and steal.

That’s the way we need to look at the goals we conceded are goals we concede regardless of game plan if we scored the goals we should have been a different story

A wonderful test for our young team and although Real showed their class in possession, we gave a superb account of ourselves in the first half.

There’s not many better club sides in world football to challenge and I for one am proud of that outing even though we slid away early second half.

Defending isn’t something our team do so often, middle to back at least, given the dominance we have in games and also the lack of technical quality our domestic teams possess - this really showed in the second half with some sloppy, perhaps tired positioning for their goals.

The more we play these games, the more we’ll learn and they’re going to come thick and fast due to the World Cup. I really hope we at least secure that Europa league spot to continue our development against good quality teams.

    Onwards and upwards. HH

Didn't suggest we were embarrassing or * in any post.. not sure what you're getting that from.

My reference to "arses collapsing" was in reference to our tendency to concede multiple within minutes, which has plagued us for years.. isn't like RM is the first instance of this.

It’s only 6/7 months since we got swept aside by Bodo Glimt in the conference league ffs.
Giving Madrid a game is massive progress even if we did lose our way a bit in the 2nd half.

Yeah one of the bigger disappointments for me. Just couldn't get the better of him whatsoever tonight. Always looked to get the cross in instead of trying to beat him one v one.
